Okay, so I did some searching on the manticore, and the general consensus is that the Greek and Indian people basically named it 'man eater'. Usually it's said to have the face of a man, the body of a (sometimes) blood red lion, and the tail of a dragon or scorpion. Some had horns and wings... and a few sites said that their were supposed to have the vocal sounds of a pipe. >_> Idunno. Either way, this baby is wonderful, I'm in love, and I think there will be a bit ofa spin on the story, like the creators did with the look.

It makes me think of sirens, in all honesty, so maybe a genderfluid siren of sorts... that eats some sort of unfortunate souls. I'll have to put more thoughts into it, but it might just be the dominant role as a male, submissive as female. I'm thinking when I get to work on the ref sheet, the horns and wings will have some extra shine, and maybe be see-through. Mainly because I freaking love the idea of light hitting, and splashing prisms of light everywhere.

Nnnnrgh... gonna have a lot of fun with this!
