When installing claws into feetpaws I make sure the foam is a little cut up and rough beforehand so the glue has more grip. Make sure you have large slits cut in the fur as well, since you will be gluing the claws down against the foam, and then overlapping the fur on top of the base of the claw. I then sew them down with invisible stitches to kinda anchor them into the paws.
It's a bit difficult to explain without visuals, but I hope that helps!
