In the society of the wolves it is common that those, who fell in disgrace or dishonor, join the dread riders, the cavallery of the Knight Order, to regain their honor one day.
Those riders are a fearless and at the same time terrifying elite unit. They dye their fur black and put on an armor that immitates bones to look even more dangerous and deadly.
They are swift and silent when they are operating, and most of all their are deadly beyond words.
The Dread Riders have one commander and one mage that are tasked with planning and covering the soldiers' movements.
So it became a common tactic to cover the unit a snow storm that takes sight and orientation from the ones who will fall victim to the riders. When then the black wolves appear in the raging blizzard it is for most of them already to late and as the snow announced their comming it covers the trais of death.
Yet their are only sent by the council in very...specific situations. As the wolves of Jotunheim are above everything else protectors, the Dread Riders are a very rare sight and it comes that they are also used for simple intimidations to avoid the greater killing, as those who are familar with the stories about those dark hunters, often a sight of a black wolf in his bone armor is enough to lay down his sword.
