Hey just thought I would let you know but the person who made NITW said they dont want people setting up shop for stuff in their art style~ They said its okay as a one off thing but once they start setting up shop it gets strange and out of hand

a lot of people are reading it differently and they haven't cleared much up but they did say not to set up a shop and only do one off things so.

Personally i feel like its wrong since you're taking someones art style and making money off of it just because they arent open for commissions /: they did say they are going to open for commissions in the future too, so if you want art in their style please buy from them since it is their style!!
So i would def let everyone whos interested in getting stuff from you know that the actual artist will be taking commissions soon too~

who cares? there's no copy right on a style...

plenty of well-known artists here on fa, copy/"steel" the style of more well-known artists and sell it. this happens everywhere and on every art-board, get comfy with it.

ya but id expect people to have some respect for the orginal artist to not do that, especially when they come forward and ask people not to because its literally taking money out of their pocket that they could use to pay their rent.

i don't offer and sell them people just ask me if i could do and why not? AND i read that tweet you posted and for me it looks like he dont really care for that anyways lol

and when an artist specifically asks people not to, you'd expect people to have the respect to listen to that request, especially if they like the artist.

No, lizardlars is not taking money out of the artist's pocket. That artist does not currently offer commissions in their style. Sure, he says he may plan to, but the fact of the matter is that at the present time he's not. As a commissioner I feel no guilt then in seeking a commission elsewhere. Saying the artist specifically requested not to is a highly subjective interpretation of his tweets, especially on such a small scale as these icons. Insinuating lizardlars doing a handful of icons is going to make this guy miss his rent payments is frankly histrionic.
