Savannas are a hell on earth for anyone who isn't native to them, the next worst thing after open deserts. Dry air, heat, lack of shade or open water, dust everywhere. Really dam inhospitable as far as I can tell.
Also, sniper playground. Clear visibility for miles, if you know how to work your way around temperature induced optical distortions.

Fellow on the right feels at home I see, the black dude is suffering from heat and the left guy looks like a rookie, all worried and stuff.

I dunno, the left guy looks like an old gheezer to me X3 I tried to mold all their faces well, but when you considder that none of them are more than 100 pixels that's kinda hard

And yeah, Savannah's aren't the nicest places to be...although I'll gladly take extreme climates X3
