This is something I feel. It's something I dream about in every waking moment. Flight is the ultimate freedom; there are no bars or holds to keep you back, no roads, no walls; just open air and your wings.

'Flight is the ultimate freedom[...] just open air and your wings'
I have to disagree on the 'ultimate' freedom part. Or actually the physicist in me. You are not free while flying, you still get pulled down all the time by the gravity of the planet that will most likely be below you. And every particle around you is putting some kind of resistance or force against your movement. This is not really ultimate freedom, but just other hindrance. Pretty much the same as walking or swimming. Just slightly more variable in height, even tho not much because you still need a medium like air to fly in which again resembles a barrier. You cant get into space with wings alone.

I understand that feeling, I enjoy flying too. Always tried to imagine what it would feel like to have my own wings; wings that I can feel, instead of just passively sitting in an aircraft.
Actually I´m not a physics major :D
Till now I did not find the courage to do that. I did geosciences and computer science instead. Maybe one day I´ll follow my dream and study physics at a university.
For now I think about physics as a hobby. I´m looking into things like the standard model of particle physics and parts of astrophysics, thoughts like on my comment yesterday just get into my head on their own.

Haha yea, I feel ya. Things like that happen to me, except the random thoughts are about concepts of technology and analogies to explain them. I can't think of any off the top of my head but that's just how it rolls, I guess.

Yes, freedom is the lack of resistance while you do something, so your argument is valid in a physical sense, but I didn't have air and particle physics in mind when I said 'freedom' haha
