*critizism of the character, not the art. I know she is supposed to be more of an amature and in that, you did a good job!* Well her stance is crap for defense. She is holding the knife backwards, the blade should be facing forward.

Never know when you'll have to stab downwards at an enemy at your feet. And if they come from above you can still slash at them.

No, she is holding the handle in the right direction, but the blade backwards. The cutting edge should be towards your opponent. If she tried a slash, she would just hit them with the blunt edge

Actually, the blade is right. Hold the knife so the blade is backward, that way when you have to block, you don't end up chipping out your blade. She can still stab, knives were never made for slashing. It's all about your preferred fighting style though.

No, she is just a scared, untrained amateur XD You shouldnt worry about chipping or damaging your blade. A knife is easily replaced, your life is not. And yes knives are made for slashing. They are meant for stabbing, slashing, and cutting.

Maybe so, but I'm trained for defensive knife-play. The blade is fine. But a chipped and damaged blade doesn't cut well, which I personally find a hindering problem. Regardless, art.

Im a former U.S. Army soldier. I'm trained in combat knife play. A chipped and damaged blade is a tiny price to pay for your life in a fight. And yes, art, as I mentioned in my original post.

Looking at the damage and bullet holes the only thing that comes to mind is pitty for the poor sob who is going to have to clean it up in the end.

Reminds me of Dead Space. I feel sorry for her, if bullets couldnt put that thing down, then a knife isnt going to do any better. But hey, its better than being completely unarmed!
