He doesn't appear often but is always amusing when he makes an appearance. Right now he is acting as an impromptu guide as the main cast (not the Mane Six) visits the Griffon Empire on official Equestria business.
By the way that's not a dirty sweater he's wearing but a breastplate with dents in it. Just sayin'.
