Oh my god, that is an awesome method.

The detailing on the scales is awesome. Like holy shit want to fondle this thing. The hair, glasses and eras are just great. The hoodie is kind of blah, but I think it had a lot to do with that color of cardstock. I always find myself less than impress when I use it. Maybe if you had used a slightly lighter or redder color for the separated arm, it might not feel so suddenly flat in comparison to the rest of the piece.

B'aw...this is a Pangolin right? Now let me say this, even when drawing one, I almost eat my left hand because of the scales. There's just too many and in such a pattern too. What you've done is both lay out the scales in a realistic pattern and underlayed them with darker paper. That plus the overall charm of the whole thing really makes it such a cutie. :3
