Thank you very much. The lack of strong cadence was suggested by my professor, and I think it works well.
In short, notation. The original piano piece was sketched by hand based on a process, then expanded in Sibelius. Orchestration was purely in Sibelius and uses a modified Pierot ensemble (flute, bass clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, cello, bass).

I should get a real notation program, for now I do everything by hand (from sketch to orchestration) and record each instrument separately using an old sampler (rarely using a free sequencer to play really fast parts, but it sounds so dead, so I usually play it and speed it up, and play everything else on the keyboard).
Never heard of a Pierrot ensemble (though now I realise that I heard it tons of times), I guess that you learn something new everyday!
