Bartholomew Reade, a cousin of the famous inventor of the Steam Man, Franklin Reade came to the Western Frontier hoping to join his brother Jacob in law enforcement in the virtually lawless west. Things didn't work out well. Bart was hung dead while Jacob and his deputies were all gunned down by cruel posy of outlaws. Bart dangled from the noose for two days, limp and dead.
Then came Bimisi, the exiled Apache shaman. He brought Bart back from the dead and enlisted him in his own war against bad men such as the ones that murdered him and his brother. Bart wasn't the first to be resurrected by Bimisi and won't be the last though. After all, he's still dead and is slowly decomposing.
Until then however, he would only be known as the Bounty Hunter, indestructible (seemingly) and feared, with Bimisi right there directing him in the right direction.

These are obviously Expies of the Lone Ranger and Tonto.
