Since that compilation has been announced, and I definitely enjoy the Temeraire series, I decided to make some improvements to an older piece. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4354991/
I've tried to keep the tone and idea of the original, but with a better sense of space and lighting. Overall, I'm rather pleased with the upgrade.

It was also a little nice to fix issues on an older piece.
Apparently, I didn't properly understand how to lay out or light a scene, back then... so it's good to apply a few things I've learned.

Never heard of the stories but this is simply astonishing.
I love the mighty impression he gives by standing on such a powerful looking tower.

The Temeraire series is historic fiction, set in the Napoleanic war era, but with dragons. It works surprisingly well, and I think they're rather neat books.
