I've been doing some thumbnails recently to practice! I took my time with these 4 though. These ones were to practice some different environments and compositions, styles, and just as practice to try and get a better understanding of shapes, perspective and lighting. :)

Both of the pictures on the left are very heavily influenced by  dirtsecret's style. I love how mellow her linework is and the general minimalistic look of her art, and the pictures are pretty much always super atmospheric - something I'd love to become better at myself. She's cleared their profile recently so I think she's now inactive here. Still on twitter (as lundipants) and tumblr (as sleeprealms) though. I'd recommend checking her out!
Top right is just a mountain i made while trying out a more illustrated look. This wasn't really influenced by anything in particular - I just brought up a reference for general shape and lighting help and it made itself.
Bottom right was my attempt at painting from a picture. It's obvious from that that I need more practice, but it's a start. Reference used is here: http://wallup.net/wp-content/upload.....ight-frost.jpg

I think I'm going to try and be a little more experimental for the next while to see if I can learn anything new, like lined characters and environments, different shading/colouring techniques, etc. It'll be a little breather as well since I'll be trying something new!
