A friend and i discussed some years ago why there arnt anny cool looking good aligned( or atleast neutral Aligned) Reptilian races in dnd. The yuan-ti are evil, the lizardmen are emotionless and the Troglodyte are evil, smelly and lazy and kobolds are weak. So We came up with this. A race of Barbaric Dinosaurmen. The entire race is based on Conan the barbarian(Robert E Howards version) and Frank Frazetta art

well i am not a fan of alignments, because i dont think a sapient being can so easily be put into a folder like that. if you are evil in dnd, you must do evil, annopunce that you are evil. you basicly act like a cartoon villian in worst cases. . but yeah chaotic good or chaotic neutral. some even chaotic evil
Good idea there and would fit well. Personally preferring more armored scalies overall, why not more sophisticated and in higher status even. I guess it's overall too intimidating in ways to put reptilians of any kind to any sort of big power position, but that's how I tend to like it. Dinosaurs and similar are cool too but myself decided to go with dragons.
For a PF setting I work on with a friend, I designed the Solarborn (http://thebarrierworldproject.tumbl.....e/144809179459), which are usually CG, occasionally LN. Sun-powered bros with a healing factor, essentially.
Could I offer a stat setup for 5e on this rocking race?
I was thinking:
Ability Score Increase: Definitely Strength up by 2, Constitution up by 2, and maybe Intelligence down by 1?
Age: However you wish to age them =)
Alignment:more often Neutral Good? They represent strength, and maybe are helpful to non-monstrous weaker creatures, as they hunt the monsters about, which either intently or inadvertently causes help to other folk.
Size: I'm guessing M, but they're still huge swol beasts, however their size is.
Speed: 30 ft?
Bite: a t-rex NEEDS a bite attack XD probably something big like d8+strength modifier
Cunning Artisan: This is right out of the Lizardfolk from Volo's Guide to Monster, basically can make weapons and tools out of slain monsters as a short rest action.
Hungry Jaws: again from the Lizardfolk, once per rested state, you can use the bite and gain temp hit points equal to con mod.
Powerful Build: Count one size larger when determining carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag or lift.
Arid Hunter: Adapted to the rocky wastes, they resist heat damage and maybe is immune to the disadvantages of the wasteland environment?
Languages: Draconic and Common. All reptilians seem to know Draconic as their language, and maybe Common?
and I'm thinking either Menacing (prof. to intimidation), Aggressive (from orcs, move speed towards enemy of choice as a bonus action), Hunter's Lore (another proficiency give), or Darkvision, or maybe Relentless Endurance or savage Attacks from the Half-Orc.
What do you think? Thoughts? =)

Rexilian: Humanoid ( rexilian)
Ability score increase: Strength 2+ constitution 2+ Charisma 1-.
Age: young 1-10 years, adolecent 11-15, Adult 16-50- ( few live longer due to violence)
Alignment. Cahotic good, neutral or evil.
Size: Medium. Avarge height for female 6-7 feet, males 7,5-8feet. some up to 9feet.
Speed 30 feet.
I dunno if theres some traits for the ideas i ahde for them like that they cant equip small weapons like knifes or daggers, but wields normal one ahnd weapons as knifes while using two handed weapons single handed. That they prefer light armour or none since their skin protects them. the ability to eat raw meat. enter into savage fury. distain for most sorts of magic and religon. deing defiant till the bitter end. have aweakness to cold based spells and being able to deal with large size monsters.
they have two main gods, none of wich they whorship, they simply akknowledges them. their relation to their gods its the same as the one between conan ( and by extention the cimmerians) to Crom. He is grim and loveless, but at birth he breathes power to strive and slay into a man's soul. What else shall men ask of the gods?" conan from the queen of the black coast on the subject of gods. The rexilians are similar as they belive they where amde to endure what ever the gods might throw at them so they shall grow stronger all the time. their Prime god is Named Krom-narr, whom they invoke in oaths or pre-battle and call to him so he may bare witness to their deeds. They value great trophies, so they search for ever larger and fiercer monsters to bring down. their other god is the goddess Carathosa, she who hungers and is more of a goddess you try avoid since she represents wild bloodlust, those that subcumb to their battlerage turn into cannaibalistic savages and are promptly put down.
They only recently came into contact with the shapeing of Iron and have barley mastred it them selfs so they Value the craftsmenship of dwarfs highly. Since before them meeting Dwarf they relied mostly upon more primitive weapons, those some prefer those weapons still. All Rexilian weapons are savage and cruel looking with barbs and hooks so to inflict the maximum amount of Damadge. They value strangth and the ability to endure and thrive no matter what.This can be strangth of body or of mind, but they distrust those that put their fate inthe hands of fickle gods or trust in magic. They Also have a Aversion to Civilazation, they dont care of the more civilized races use of duplicity, lies and manipulation and they dont see much use in the laws of civilazation that seem to favor the corrupt.
Most Rexilians that one might see are often a merceneary, a sellsword, bodyguard,wandering mosnter slayer or gladiator, they have not yet grasped the concept of money and often take out payment in gear,weapons,tools, animal hides or food and shelter and will stay loyal as long as their due is met.
their preferd classes are: Barbarian who enters battle in a franzy of blade and claw, warriors as either mercanery or gladiators, Bard, since the telling of great deeds and heroes are central to the rexilian culture, each tribe venerate the memories of great warriors and their deeds and a few even become Monks, mastering their primal fury and focuses it into a leathal force. the only magic users that are seen amongst them are blood seers, who are more like battlemages, they use glyphs and spells to fuel and enhance their allies and them selfs.

so they are literally Cimmerian Dinosaurs, I love it!
so it sounds like the traits would be: Powerful Build, Natural Armor(something like AC=13 or 10+Con or Dex mod?), Monstrous Slayer (like goblins fury of the small, but for this biggun, AND includes that matter of weapon wielding due to their monstrous size!), Bite, Cunning Artisan, and Hungry Jaws (all three from bite to here from Lizardfolk in Volo's Guide, Hungry Jaws specifically to represent the eating raw meat benefit) and Cold Vulnerability, and definitely Relentless Endurance (from half-orcs), and Savage Fury (just made it up >w< works like being able to make another attack, with added str mod damage, and the ability to move up to speed towards a foe as a bonus action per rested state)
I figure its fair equivalence to give the Rexilian an extra trait that requires rest after using due to the cold vulnerability. Thoughts?

BUT! I have written out the details based on your desires for the race! I made them especially beefy, but with some savage banes (no pun intended) around cold and magic.
Here's what I have:
Rexillian Racial Abilities
-Large Bearing (carry/lift/drag weight doubles, and can wield 2h weapons as Versatile, but can't wield 1h weapons without the versatile trait)
-Primal Armor (Adds Str Mod to AC when Unarmored or wearing Light Armor)
-Savage Fury (Action/Once per short or long rest, Gain Total hit dice+Con Mod as temporary Hp, and +Hit Dice of damage to your attacks. This battle-lust lasts a minute)
-Frenzied Hunger (Bonus Action/Once per short or long rest, can do a D10+Str Mod bite attack and gain Hit Dice+Con Mod of temporary Hp by consuming the flesh ripped out of target)
-Cold Vulnerability (Double Cold damage)
-Magic Disdain (Disadvantage on Skill checks related to Arcana and Religion)
So a little glassy against cold attacks, but otherwise is pretty intense! I'm reinvigorating my efforts to look for a group to test this out at the moment :) I'll let you know how things go! Krom-narr bear witness to the glory to come!
