"I don´t know how i did it, but after i hold it on my claws, it lost all light, and i did not felt tired anymore"
-Vyse unknowingly absorbing Etheria from a crystal
Crystals are a special kind of mineral that can be found anywhere where Etheria is present. No one knows exactly how they are created, but they seem to be present in any place where the Etherial flow is particulary strong.
What makes crystals special is that they have the trait to feed and contain the etheria that flows in the air and become charged with it, and the more they feed, the bigger they become. Then they can be harvested and used depending of their color and size for several thigs:
By color
- Red Crystals: warm at touch and become extremely hot if is close to fire, can be used as heat source or to keep fire on, Smiths use them to keep their forges fire strong and can also can be used to power up machinery whoever they are unstable and might explode if shattered violently
- Green Crystals: Used to help the growth of plantlife and when shattered the etheria inside can be used to heal disseases. if used togueter with yellow crystals it can be used to make infertile land suitable to plantlife
- Yellow Crystals: These crystals are present wherever the sunlight is strong and the etheria they contain flows directly into the earth, they emit a very strong light if shattered so those who work with these kind of crystals can be usually seen wearing protective goggles.
- Blue Crystals: Cold at touch, they are the opposite of red crystals, they can be found mostly in places with water, they are used to cold down overheating machinery and melt into water if shattered.
- Light Blue Crystals: not much is now about these crystals only that they seem have magnetic properties and are heavily present on floating islands. These crystals are usually left alone because if they were shattered or removed from the floating islands they are lodged these could plummet back to earth. Light Blue crystals contraband is usually popular between pirates because they can also be used in the engine of ships to make them fly
By size
- Clusters: crystals of considerable size are know as clusters, these are the ones that are usually used for spesific jobs like keeping forges on or making airships fly.
- Crystals: Any medium sized crystals are usually just known as crystals, in large quantities they can be used as replacement for clusters but they are usually used for their effects when shattering
- Shards: crystals of very little size or pieces of shattered crystals or clusters are considered shards. They no longer hold any etheria and have no particular use, they are even considered to be worthless and is common to refer to them in phrases as a way to express that something is insignificant or useless ("i dont give a shard what you say" or "i wouldn´t pay two shards for that" for example)
Etheria sensitive creatures, like dragons for example, are able to absorb the etheria stored within a crystal directly by just touching them, allowing the to recover faster from wounds or fatigue.
