F*&# it! I'm getting a Ryzen! Preferably an R7 1800X system! I only live once so I might as well try something new.
I don't care if the gaming benchmarks are not good but what i know for certain, is that Ryzen R7 CPU's will perform a lot better than my current Intel i7 2600K Even if I game on a Ryzen system, my GTX 1070 FE will do most of the work anyway and i suspect game play will be a lot smoother too. Either way it will be a huge upgrade from my current system so it will be a win-win situation for me.
I am a professional digital artist and Ryzen will be more suited to my work in a very big way. I also make 3D models occasionally and I have plans to animate them in the future which will make Ryzen essential to my plans.
Time to take a break from Intel. At least i'm doing my small bid to make Intel drive their CPU prices down.

I wouldn't think that ti would make a big difference in games anyway. Besides if a game can use a large number of cores then it could run faster even.
The fact is if you have a need for more than 4 cores then Ryzen CPUs cost less for the same performance than chips from Intel. So Ryzen is a great option if you need the cores, but for 4 core stuff Intel is similar in price per performance so its mostly just brand preference (Yeah i prefer Intel for no particular reason).

Yeah 3D rendering can use as many cores as you can throw at it. Probably not munch in the way of 2D unless its video editing. Then again Ryzen does still have impressive single threaded performance so even things that can't use a lot of cores should run plenty fast compared to Intel (There high core count chips tend to lack a bit in single threaded due to the lower clock speeds)
My CPU is still plenty up to date but if it was not i would have been considering Ryzen.

I think you may find this interesting with Ryzen, it really does look more promising than the flagship i7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylvdSnEbL50
