Phew! just got in from lunch with our pal Chuck-o after another peaceful protest march against the local University for dropping transgender healthcare. (links if yer interested... http://www.latimes.com/business/hil.....109-story.html http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2017/02/.....alth-coverage/ ) It went nicely, lots of visibility, lots of outspokenness, lots of nice people, and even a few harassers to spice things up. We got flipped off AND told to "grow the fuck up!". My wife says someone drove by and told us to "get a job" too...even though it's Saturday...*raises a brow*Anywho! *claps and smiles* lovely, lovely people..
on to the topic at hand, when I first met my friend
fireandfeathers on a minecraft server, she was under the impression she the only transgender lesbian on the server at the time, and in response myself and other players spoke up that we were also transgender (or bigender in some of the other players cases). Annnd ....then...some asshole chimed in with "I'm a proud male. not trans or anything"..
Whaddya want, a fucking cookie? You didn't need to fight for the recognition and respect of your gender identity. Nobody's using threats of violence or jail time to scare you away form using the right restroom. You never had to "come out" as a cis male, fearing the loss of your job, your friends, your livelihood. In fact, nobody was even expressing any "pride" in being trans, people were just stating the fact. Fuck off!
Fuck straight pride. Fuck white pride. Fuck cis pride. None of that shit ever existed until a bunch of whiny little passive-aggressive shitheads started feeling threatened by the growing confidence of oppressed minority groups.

Oh, I definitely agree! That is a bit of a side topic I've though about before, as well. I always liked the way Ashley put it once "be proud of who you are, not what you are". I hope I'm accurately quoting, there..
That said, I can appreciate the good intentions of things like 'gay pride' atleast. Whereas it seeks to help build the confidence of lgbt people, straight/cis pride exists solely to mock and belittle our kind.
Dragonborn..dragonborn...Skyrim, right? It's been a while..

Sexualizing lg relationships isn't the same as a cake or pictures. Sexualizing lg relationships make lgbt people seem like sexual deviants or as though their relationship is mainly about the pleasure they feel from the same sex, so yes that is in some cases justified. Cakes and Photographs aren't the same as sexualizing a same sex relationship and making it look bad, it's taking pictures of someone else's special day and making them a beautiful cake for that day. I'm sorry but you keep jumping to different points and it's clearly showing that you're trying to find something, anything to prove your point.
Normally I don't agree with straight pride so much in an every day sense as it's true, straight people do have it easier, but then think about the furry community. I can estimate with some confidence that the ratio of straights here is probably 100 to 1. Therefore making straights a minority. Surely we're allowed some acceptance of pride for being straight here? I'm kind of tired of being made to feel guilty and sit in the corner while the rest of the community is holding hands and celebrating their sexuality.
But I'd suppose this all somehow comes off as a dig at LGBTQ rights even though I'm very pro anyone can do their thing.

I think you're misunderstanding the point of lgbt pride - it's got nothing to do with the status of being in the minority of sexual/gender identities - it's about being proud to be true to your gender/sexuality in the face of overwhelming bigotry and abuse. There's no culture or place I've ever seen or heard of where heterosexual relationships or cisgender identities are taboo to the point where it's legal to treat them as second-class citizens and children are trained to believe they don't even exist - and thus the notion of "straight pride" can really only boil down to either being a misunderstanding or an antagonistic gesture.
I'm rather confused by how you would be made to feel guilty in any of this, or as if you weren't allowed to also hold anyone's hand and celebrate your sexuality alongside everyone else, while simply being able to acknowledge that you have the fortune of your particular preferences not having such heavy stigmas attached to them.
