This is a situation where there would have been zero problems if you were honest, and maximum problems if you tried to hide it.... which you did.

But yeah. We know Leon forgives Simon. So the real question if why bring up Simon's dad as such an antagonist... is he secretly going to be Vul-01 who crawled away from the battle with Alex Young, recovered in secret, had a son, threw a fit when that son ended up being gay, and then got cold cocked by his wife with a frying pan... yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that is not it. Still raises the question why put such a Chekhov's gun into the plot. After all, Simon's father is powerful enough to get the police to ignore all parts of the incident aside from those that implicate his wife. Maybe he's part of Meier's take over the world club?
