A rare subspecies of Goodra native to the marshes of north Kalos. Slimebelly Goodra are unique and highly prized for their translucent bodies and the vast amount of slime they naturally produce, which accumulates in their stomachs until spit out. In fact, Slimebellies are unable to secrete their slime through their skin at all, leaving it remarkably dry for a Goodra.
Slimebelly slime is viscous, sweet, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and highly nutritious. They'll use this remarkable substance to coat their territory instead of their bodies, trapping insects and other small animals attracted by the sweet smell and helping to fertilize and protect the vegetation within.
Additionally, Slimebellies consider it a show of affection to "inflate" one another with their slime, especially when the receiver has a flat belly. This is because Slimebellies consider stretchiness a highly attractive trait, and will fill themselves nearly to bursting to impress potential mates. Finally, any Slimebelly trainer can assure you that such affection is not limited to their own species, so prospective owners are advised to acquire a taste for the slime before catching or breeding!
