[EDIT] 1-25-2010. So I had rescanned this back in November, so I could have a better version on my DA account. I forgot to update this version here. Enjoy a darker, more accurate scan! [/edit c: ]
I apologize for the large watermarks ^^;
Please be respectful and not rip me off by "stealing" this image. I just worked SOOO hard on this.
Anyway, I won 1st Place Graphite for this picture! Least to say I am thrilled. I spent about two weeks total; around one week for each wolf. I put it off for a while, then finally kicked my bottom into gear and finished it.
This is the best representation of my skills at this time. C:
Also, little side note, I guess one of my trademarks with realism, is that I draw snarling wolves. I adore drawing vicious and intimidating animals.
Photo reffed from a Wolf book. All mechanical pencil.

I've never heard of a Moonspell... ^^; All I did was ref this image from a photo in a book called The Art of Being a Wolf by Anne Ménatory. The photo copyrights go to a R. Wittek/Blickwinkel, so says the Photographic Credits in the back of the book. xD
I guess when it comes to photographs that are professionally taken, "duplicates" can be made by different artists, especially if they are published in a book! Oh well!
Thanks :)

This is very good. ^^ Wonderful fur and expressions.
I'm wondering...are you allowed to ref from a photo to win any sort of contest? I thought it was illegal or something. I'm -not- at all saying this because I think you shouldn't have - I'm asking more for myself...XD I've been wondering for a while now what the rules are for copying or referencing from photos. D= I wanna knoooow...XD

There's a big difference between tracing from a photo and redrawing a photo to create an image. Almost everyone needs a reference some time to be able to correctly draw something, and both my art teachers from my Middle and High School highly suggested I used references to draw from. The whole point of using a reference, really, is to be able to learn and teach yourself how things work and how they would be drawn/created/etc.
We all use references every day whether we know it or not! How else would we kow how a canine's head look without looking at a photo of our pet. What about trees, grass, cats, sky, cars, and everything else? <3
Anyway, like I said, using something to draw from is way different than just tracing it. After all, you are making your own rendition when you draw from a photo, rather than just take the easy way and truely copy. I hope you understand, and thank you so much for the lovely comment! c:

I quit creating at all because you took all of my art down over 1 traced work. I haven't drawn anything to completion since middle school. I have been so fucked in the head over drawing at all since then... I can't even get those freehand pictures I did back. I'm sorry I loved your work and tried to put hints in my own so maybe you'd notice and gift me... Also sorry I traced ONE picture. Thanks. :Dead-Kitty13
..I.. I am so sad that there's always someone who interprets any interactions as HAWT DOGCOCK WOLF SEX. D:
Like I said at your house, I will have this on my wall some day next to your other AMAZING GORGEOUS drawing. And keep on keepin' on using the references, I brushed the surface why I am too scared to but I;m 24 now and barely getting anywherewir rra3

I'm stunned all over again..... this is just exquisite!
Did I miss something, or have you never combined this complete level of detail and accuracy with the sexiness of something like Madam Helena? And why not? I mean, they're both glorious arts, if for different reasons. Why not photorealistic porn?
