Given the content of that little message Uhura intercepted, I doubt the klingons are in any kind of condition for a war.
Plus the writers already said that they used a romulan as the bad guy in part because going back to the klingons would feel 'backward', what with their status in later trek.

I'm sorry, but Kirk's been getting plenty of tail for years now. He's almost always gone for quantity. Spock, being the smarter and more paitent of the two, bided his time and waited to acquire the best of honeys, so he's more interesed in quality.
That said Awesome image. I honestly hope that some Klingon woman takes a romantic interest in Kirk in the next movie. He'll either spend most of the film running or at least learn a few more effective fight moves after spending time in her company.

Why is he mortally injured? Well the answer is quite simple, seeing as Klingons are so bloody strong it is quote reasonable to think that she attacked her victim with such force that some of the pieces that flew off reached lethal velocities and impaled the poor bystander, more than likely it was the unfortunate chaps comlink.

not the new movie. Ho yeah it is fun, yes yes, but so common, so cold, so like any pop movies now. Just like Transformers or whatever new "sf" flick tomorrow

What can I say ? the movie is technically GREAT as ALL MOVIES now but it's just one more scifi stuff bland movie. No heart, no wonders, no "space, the last frontier", just words, but not dream
yes it was fun, of course, thousands of professionnels works to make me haha moments, but why ? To see just spocky being angry and death, death and still death of billions people in 30s ?
and in the end Kirk and Spock just kill coldly the latest bad guy with all fire... Maybe it was like old TOS, maybe it was a lot of more fun than Next Gen. But God, I miss Picard and his wisdom. and the Progress and Utopia the future promised me.
no no no no, it was funny, grittier (whatever it means), sex (but not so big boobs), and great fx, but please, ALL Movies are like that, ALL theses "blockbuster", ALL theses "sf" movies, just Teenagers rebels making crazy stuff and us, adultes, watching them..
Come on ! I will prefer to be a teenager in a video game and saving the princess MYSELF !

Star Trek earned me a nickname because my boss at work (who dresses like a Jedi on his days off) thinks I look like a Vulcan. So he calls me 'Vulcan'.
Also new Spock was hott as fuck and Leonard Nimoy is old as fuck. That movie did rock the box though. My hubby thought I was joking when made the comment about the guy in the red uniform but we laughed so hard when he died.
