The Eastern Alliance has war beasts, too. - Plight of the Ro
Another amazing work by
SephrenDemon , this scene occurs shortly after the Eastern Alliance begins to invade the peaceful valley people from Plight of the Rose.
Occurring in the later days from the valley after Teela and Caleb had concluded their worldly travels, a highly organized military force is making plans on invasion and conquest of this newly discovered realm. One major obstacle that stands in their way is a massive mountain range with sharp cliffs that offer few chances to descend without the aid of extremely long ropes or highly skilled mountain climbers. (This army also lacks any aircraft technology, long range weapons or notions of an alternate invasion via the sea.) However, they do have specialized Foxens called Wardens, whom are gifted with mind connections to weaker minded beasts.
Such is the case, here. The valley farmers have had a fair warning and have mounted an attempt at defending from a located gathering of Alliance soldiers, high atop the cliffs. The valley folks were fortunate that one town settlement has been inventing new technologies, like the Flintlock. This semi-accurate and long range weapon was aiding to keep the soldiers from repelling down the cliff side. However, they were highly unaware that the platoon was actually protecting several Wardens, whom were maintaining mental connections with several of these nightmare mole creatures. Whose tunnels, while having taken days to dig under the mountain ranges with, are the planned invasion points for whole platoons while driving the defensive positions back.
Normally herbivore in nature, these creatures would normally burrow under the ground in search of vegetation roots and tumors from the eastern territories to feast upon. Relatively simple minded and heavily equipped to tear through hardened, frozen over soil, they make perfect work force slaves to Wardens and become exceedingly easy to launch front wave attacks with. Especially when the enemy has little armor and whose fur and skin will stand no chance against such teeth and claws.
Low and behold, the valley farmers also have a few Wardens of their own and a few highly terrifying creatures of their own. Such as Megilo Worms and this Graith whom flies from high overhead. ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22131003/ ) Unfortunately, (in this case) Graiths are more native to the far south and possess complex thoughts that most Wardens can not overtake. (Neutral Graiths are predators to big game, including Foxens. Wild Graiths would dine on members from either side without hesitation.) Which means the farmers and scientific minded of the valley only have one. It also means the Eastern Wardens won't be able to persuade him. As Colby Kritz is currently mind merged into this Graith.
Will the mole smash down and slash this poor villager apart or will Colby, the Graith come sweeping down and save the day? Tune in to Plight at some point in this lifetime.
