It happens, one time I bought some high level stuff for millions, then they had a problem and had to roll the servers back. Lost all of it then couldn't find most of it for the original prices I bought it for if at all, v.v; not to mention it was a good 3 or 4 hours of shopping to find them in the first place.
Ah good ol' maplestory and its silly localization errors.
I kinda miss it, but then again I kinda don't. Didnt enjoy the fact that you'd have to grind for at least 24 hours before you'd level once.. - and that that would be the time it would take with a 2x exp coupon :/
And silly Blood Snowboards. I remember way back when, when they used to be one of the rarest Polearms.
Question, did they ever fix up the hacker issues? When I used to play hackers were a dime a dozen. Would even flaunt their hacks in front of people in places like the Henesys Training Grounds, sucking monsters left and right, killing and disrupting the low end character training there. And they didn't even care, especially since GM presence was pretty much Zero.
And out of curiosity, what server ya play on? I was on Broa.

well first off anyone cought hacking is banned now from maple story. and blood snowboards arnt rare at all sence i see people throwing them away now. i have had like 6 of them at one point now x3 as for the GM thing im not sure if they come on alot or not sence i dont see people geting banned for cusing in the speaker things. and i play on Khaini right now
I haven't played for about two years I think, so things change I suppose. I just know that Nexon wasn't much better than Wizet was at managing the whole GM thing. I had only managed to see a couple GM's in my entire maplestory game-life. One was GM DrakeChipz, or something similar, which was before Nexon took over - so he was a Wizet GM.
There were five million people surrounding him in Ludi when he decided to actually make an appearance, with Megaphone spam galore everywhere. He had an Eviscerator, which is like an Eclipse cept bigger and blue in color and the Wizet Cap thingy. That and I caught an hour long buff of Holy Symbol on my I/L Wizard XD.
Its good to see that they're finally banning people, but I've heard its automated and innocent people tend to get caught in the crossfire sometimes.
As for Megaphone banning, one of my friends and good zakuming buddy's MemoryLock got temp-banned for saying something really light. And the ironic thing is, 5 minutes afterwards someone said "Dick" and "Fuck", using the guild exploit to say them uncensored in a megaphone, and they didn't get banned :/
And yeah, Blood Boards are way common now thanks to Forest of Gollem in Sleepywood, but before that they were like super rare. Another friend of mine, Rokui, managed to sell one for like.. 20 million mesos to some guy before everyone caught on that they were a super common item.
My main was a level 126 Nightlord before I quit playing. I got my Zakum Helmet at about 115. I think I had been playing for about 2 or 3 years before I stopped. It was fun, but I just couldn't handle the grind anymore.

ya i know what you mean. ive only been playing for about afew months now and im only level 48 right now. ive just been questing and playing around instead of level grinding like everyone else trys to do in the game. ive seen bots spaming some crapy message about like 100mill maso things for money when its not that hard to make money as you level up and do quests. as got the whole GM thing ive never seen one before on maple story^^;
i got some friend thats been level grinding like crazy cus he wants to compeat at geting to a higher level then me in it right now but ive only leveled up like 2 times and every time i do level up he gets all pissed off at me and keeps saying some crap about him being abetter mapler then me when ive been messing around with the game alot longer then he has x3

Gotta love over-competitive friends :/
Bots really surprise me. At this point I would've expected Maplestory to start handing out IP bans to known bot spammers, guess not... and whats stupid is that its so painfully obviously that they're only out to either A.) sell you Mesos obtained through hacking or B.) Steal your account info.
I remember one time when my friend was in a Zakum run which apparently had god-modding Chief Bandits mid-run. GM Sarang popped up right in the middle of Zakum and started explaining the situation. Then handed out the ban-hammer to the detected hackers XD. Sucked though cause the run pretty much failed after that, but it was fun watching hackers getting nailed in real time.
That was another thing that turned me off from maplestory, though, was how useless the quests were. You'd get like 6000 experience for doing a really long quest.... which is barely enough to level up someone at level 15 or something... And the rewards don't even outweigh the risks of dying (whee, i lost 10% experience, or 5% if you're a high level thief like me!)
I played WoW for a year and pretty much hit the level 70-80 cap on two characters doing nothing but quests. I'd never fathom hitting the level 200 cap in MS doing nothing but their quests :/

ya i know what you mean. i did some lame party quest earlyer and died cus some lame ass didnt tell me that the thing was a one hit kill and couldnt be killed. so i lost 10%exp then they blamed me for not knowing when it was my first time doing the party quest. the scames i always report to the GM's but i never see them do anything about it for days till i go back like a week later and see the old bot gone and replaced with a new one. and some of the bots have goten smarter makeing 2 stand in the same spot so you cant report the one talking.
i may do like every quest but thats becuse i try to get everything that i can in maple thogh most quests seem to just give you abunch of pots that you dont need x3

Judging by your level I'll go ahead and guess that you are talking about the Ludi PQ, and you got hit by the 99999 gollems that only thieves can Dark Sight through. Yeah, it can be annoying to get nailed by those if you're another class. Whats really annoying though, as a thief, is when people tempt fate by jumping down or hanging right at the edge of the rope, seeing how far they can push it without getting touched. Ugh...
And another redundancy factor to quests is that when they do offer a piece of equipment you need, the quest is usually far beyond your capabilities at the level you're trying to do them at. :/
And yeah, unless the GM's actually cracked down on them themselves, bots will never stop spamming in maplestory.

Probably not, Alishar's no pushover, especially with his curses. Darkness is probably one of the worst ones, since any physical attackers (melee and ranged) won't do any damage, unless you're a mage. Magic connects no matter what with that >.>
Its usually a good idea to pack cure-alls or holy water, since you don't wanna wait 2 minutes for darkness to wear off.

There's no honor amongst Maplers, or so the phrase could be coined. No-one cares about anyone as long as they can get their instant gratification.
Like back when the Coolie Zombie maps weren't nerfed, chances are if you had an Area 4 channel (just before entering the mines), you KS'ed the hell out of the person who used to have it and it was only a matter of time before someone stronger came around, or the prior person came back with friends. :/

ya i know what you mean. like for the whole month theirs alod of kill stealing going on on bubbleings. the stuped level like 15 things just becus they have a like 0.01 chance of droping the maple shield. not alot have been found down in there anyway and ive seen level 103's and level 120's down their killing them like crazy. no matter what time i go thru their theirs always noobs and high levels killing them trying to get it just becuse its maple event. they could make money doing other stuff on their too. maple shields sell for like 30-50mill or 6k-10k nx. its rediculus and sad enogh i think i saw one of the high level people level up down in the kerning city subway place
-.=.-

30 to 50 million mesos? Thats a bit rediculous... I think I would be loaded now with how many maple anniversary items i've got cached away on an alt XD
But yeah, I remember on the last maple anniversary I experienced the bubblings were under constant harassment by all sorts of levels, mostly by a bunch of ass bishops and mages spamming their screenwide uber attacks like Genesis and sorts... what a waste...

Of course. Its pretty much always been THE shield for Bandits since they nerfed the drop rates on the Secluded Wristguard, the one with luck that made it worth looking for. It was a relative pain in the ass to find one to begin with, but after a certain patch Nexon pretty much made it nearly impossible to get one or something. I'm was a Nightlord in training so that sorta stuff didn't apply to me (rather, i got bit in the ass by Star costs), but it was still rather pissy of Nexon to make such a boneheaded decision... Which is probably why I quit, I just couldn't take Nexon Stupidity anymore.
I remember at my last Maple Anniversary Event... I was pretty much the FIRST person to get a Maple Helmet (the level 5 one but it was still one regardless). Funny thing was that I wasn't looking for any item, didn't even know the event started, but I wind up killing a Black Squid and bloop, out comes a maple helmet.
Never did find a higher level one, which made me a bit sad, but I got a Zakum Helmet a couple weeks later anyways so I was happy with that. XD

You really have to do some digging around to find people who orchestrate zakum runs. And even if they let you come along, it usually takes multiple runs and you'll be on a waiting list to get them. DK's and Priests are usually the first in line when it comes to getting helmets. 3 to 6 helmets are typical per successful run as well as a bunch of money and rare item drops.
At least you have 4th jobs now. When I got mine I had to endure over an hour of hell and hoping that I wouldn't die the entire time. Now runs with a lot of 4th jobbers in them usually down all three forms of Zakum in less than 15 minutes. Its crazy how fast they can be now. I had been on 7 runs and died 6 out of the 7 times, all due to my stubbornness of wanting to use MP and HP pots... Here's some advice, either bring a bunch Ginger Ale's or use your 50% or 100% elixers you find killing monsters. It makes things so much easier and survivable.. XD

ya i know, ive been just lazy and trying to save up to get one but, someone said they would try to take me on a Z run. but the fucker never came back for me. he left me their waiting for a hour and when i wispered him about it he said toghe luck and then he logged off. it sucked! so i wasted my afternoon trying to get into another party for it and nothing. so i got fucked over in the end. thogh silver depute stars are the best thing right now. +5 all stats +100 hp mp and like 96 att and mag def. its like 35mill for one now and i dont know how to get one. so i think im just going to get one at the FM now.
