Tora Delphini was a regular doctor before the coming of the Hybrids. After the transformative event, DNAftershock, occurred, Tori was changed into a Killer Whale and was taken along with other people into the Hybrid prison known as The Zoo. Tori was stuck in the aquatic zone along with all manner of aquatic mammal, fish, and other sea life. She became a person of interest when it was discovered she was a doctor, she helped as many hybrids as she could, but she was a human doctor and a hybrid's animal physiology was making it difficult for her to know how bodies would react. When Tori discovered she could turn back into a human (due to the mammalian nature of both her forms) she went out of the water to research aquatic life anatomy to better help her "friends in the deep" Tori also was researching other animal anatomies so that she can help with land animals and has become known around the zoo as "The Vet".
