seriously, with all of this people complaining about how it's going I'm really starting tof eel guilty for even joining this...I just wanted to have fun and try to improve my comic art x.x can't it be like a normal show ? if you don't like it don't watch it ? because this is slowly getting to me, I just wanted to have fun, experiment with things, try out different fields, but if this is what I have to go trough...erf, seriously...
X3 it doesn't matter what you try; some people will have issues with stuff no matter what. X3 the tournament has become a big drama fest, but I'm still goin'. going to the end, I hope. just keep doing your thing. at the end of the day, if you improve on a skill, on your timing, on whatever, the tournament was worth it.
That wasn't a complaint, actually. Just an observation. Don't worry about it, silly Sparky. :P
The only reason it mattered enough to me to comment on it at all is because the tournament is taking a serious route I didn't expect to happen, given that most of the people in it usually draw or write humorous things.

Man... this part of the comic is really heartbreaking.. I know a certain anthro Latios would beat the pulp out of Sefra. <.< That guy is just wicked evil. This is one good RP and it really shows the characters of both Sparky and other contestants. *hugs the chu* I hope you win this one Sparky, because this story might come right into a plot twist which will, if you win, make things more interesting.
It indeed make people ask... What are people like Sefra doing this for? Why all the forced bonds of friendship broken like this? And how can reformation powers not work here? Something is amiss and even Flardan would've figured that one out by now.

*considers the appropriate reaction...*
Settles for
"!QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
That rocked! I loved the emotion, the facial expressions, you drew the fight scene superbly and the way their friendship was tested, rammed over the coals and rescued was awesome!
Sefra comes across as just freaky and shudder enducing to make him a believable villain.
*claps*
Masterfully well done Mister Chu!
Good luck in the judging

You are welcome!
Though you should know i'm adding your name to the list of people resposnible for re-igniting my like of Pokemon after years of letting it languish!
I've gone from knowing "No one" who likes Pokemon to an entire host of people who like Pokemon! Its rather pleasent really

Great comic Sparky! The whole Sefra-twist and last panel are especially good. I think my favorite parts where the faces you were able to pull on 'ole Seph. Something that cute should never appear so sinister. o.o
But I'm sure you knew all that already. ;)
Only one question- You're already totally forgotten about eating me?! And I though I was so tasty... u.u'''

Heh...it's interesting to see everyone taking a similar take on the Strikers, and attitude towards the tournament in general. While the competitors are only doing what they're required to do to attempt to advance, playing within the rules of the world they've been thrust into, I can only wonder if any of the hatred that has stemmed towards the Strikers is going to spill over outside of the tournament itself?
...basically, will there be 32 people who hate Lapseph that didn't before, based on how the storyline ends? Will the person who comes out on top refuse to partake in the boss battle out of spite? Will the person who wins ask for 32 pics of Lapseph's char being vored as their prize?
Regardless of all that, Sparky, I think you'll claim another victory in this round, and I hope you take the whole tournament down. I understand your worries with shyguy; both you and him have been evolving in art skill and quality throughout the tournament. Naturally, I still want you winning, both because you're my friend, and because your main chara reforms prey given the choice.
Incredible work; definitely made me feel rather emotional reading through the series.

Well that settles it. You're in this now Sparky. You're in it to the end. No matter who hates it, no matter who gets hurt, you MUST make it to the end so you may set everything right. You have my full support, and if i could i would simply join you in your quest to make sure it is seen through to the very end. But as it stands, the only true support i can give you, is that ball hanging around your neck. DO NOT forget to use it when you need to.

If I could parttake, I'd stand by you side! =3
But since I can't enter that world, I'll root for your victory on the sidelines.
You made a promise to save Jag... and that promise should be fullfilled! ;)
Also, Like I said on DA. This comic is totally Epic! XD
You really did a lot of work on this and I can really relate to the characters and their emotions in this comic.
The expressions and the way they express their feelings are very well done in my humble opinion.
Oh, and about those people saying: "I see scenes that remind me of other anime" or "Giant evil figure in the sky. Kind of cliche"
If it's good, is essential to the story and works, why do something completely different? =3
I myself could go medievil on 'every' comic\manga artist for countless of cliche things that they did, it's inevitable. (like IGN's top 10 overused cliche storylines\plots suggested) "you could come up with a guy that drives a car and throws dead babies at people, that's original, but it doesn't add anything and thus will fail horribily". So you see, you need atleast one or more of these ingredients to start off a certain storyline, no matter what the story is about.
Or in other words: You made a great and interesting comic that will be remembered for years to come Sparky! ^_^
You have got a great talent and musn't let that go to waste.
Don't let other people hold you back from your reaching your goals my friend. =3
Take care and good luck!

Hmmm.. not sure how to put this. The comic is great, the art is great, writing is pretty good. My only "problem" with it is that it comes off as over dramatic rather than epic as it should. Maybe it's just me. Just the whole "look a friend! oh no we have to fight! yay we won't fight! aw he's dead(ish)..." went a little quickly. I guess there isn't anything you could've done about it. Just saying, it feels like you tried to stuff 100 pages worth of story into the 12 you have here which to me makes it feel over dramatic and kind of attempting to be epic without achieving it.
In other words although I'm not especially fond of the comic itself, your skill is undeniable and will only continue to improve. So banish any negative thoughts and see where this leads (or lead it somewhere.. depending on how you look at it).

you should also consider this: I had three weeks of time, along with having a job and rl to keep an eye on...I had to use my time as best as I could ^^; this is the most I could do, really, I used every bit of free time and I know that the action would have looked rushed, but that's what you get when you are in a contest like this. this is more like a (VERY HARD) training for when I'll do something bigger with my two actual comics
Good point. It's almost a shame it has to be rushed though but then again you could say that about anything really. Hmm I think Leonardo Da Vinci sums it up nicely:
"Art is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Leonardo Da Vinci
So if you think about it that way, you did the best you could in the time you had. In that sense I think you did a great job. Also just for fun another quote:
"A good painter has two main objects to paint, man and the intention of his soul. The former is easy, the latter hard as he has to represent it by the attitude and movement of the limbs." ~ Leonardo Da Vinci
I'd say you're very good in regards to that. You're art is very expressive.

Great entry... actually all you entries for the VOCT have been great.
The drama did make me feel a little strange, but i'm only saying that to encourage you going on with doing the tournament, being able to cuase people to get emoional over something fictional is a good thing. So... umm... Keep it up.
At the very least the current direction of the plot gives me all the more reason to cheer for you to win. ^_^
well in closing... umm... going to go all "way too seriously into it" but here it goes... "Keep on fighting, Sparky. Rescue Jag and the others! Show the now strangly sinister Sefra the true power of frindship!"
...and now to break any dramatic after affects of that. *Squeak*
(also try saying that part about Sefra 10 times fast X3)
