Guy needs to learn something from my badger shaman, Bluerose, when it comes to handling totems, icons, fine weaponry and other crafts of the trade. Guaranteed she wouldn't have broken this item.

That is, if he survives long enough to actually learn the lesson.

If I know inca enough that idiot that broke her sword hilt there then she'll probably use his skull as a trophy for his incompetence of not handling her wares with care and maybe try to warn others of his example but that is my 2 cent theory

Might have been a ceremonial blade, vs. one intended for combat or even for jungle work. Still, not THAT many blades of the 'look, don't touch' variety for a jungle tribe.
