So, I've mentioned the God Project a number of times in Happenstance BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT. Among other things, the resulting phenomenon actually created a global aftershock that awakened super-isms across the globe (which has increased over time).
It's worth noting, then, that the people working on the project had a warning that things could go bad (before they created the bad egg pure evil one). Take, for example, this champion from Canada. When the project amplified her persona ... she actually turned into a sort of 8 foot tall embodiment of romance (capable of turning true-giant size, 50 foot). Naturally this really wasn't anything that the Canadian Government could REALLY use as a hero, so she's since enjoyed a nice quiet "retirement" in a Yukon mansion retreat. She has since delved into magic and helps as a researcher on that front.
