One of our local artist furs and a welcome friend  Steeljaw asked if I was able to create something that would reflect her Current German Shepherd Theirian Fursona something that would be capable of also reflecting that animal type but also give one hope and healing of one’s mental composure.
This necklace took a lot more time and planning to create.

In fact just to write this explanation and condense everything into this ref guide. i had to research and write for 2 weeks.

I had to personally wire wrap the accent being the large piece of Tigers eye, a task which I am particularly happy about due to its sturdy nature, along with finding just the right pieces of Smokey quartz needed to create the gift, not only that but drilling holes was a great task in its own right, but still enjoyable once accomplished. I originally choose Tiger’s eye mainly because the colors of this stone remind me that of the German Shepherd, surprisingly enough, this stone meets and exceeds Her needs perfectly

One large piece of polished Tiger’s eye
Six points of Smokey Quartz (drilled) (3 dark 3 light)
Two small rock chips of Smokey Quartz (drilled)
Two small Tiger’s eye beads (re-drilled)
One small garnet (set between wire loops above large Tiger’s eye) (drilled)
Two pieces of what I closely identified as lizard stone jasper (drilled)
Two pieces of non magnetized Hematite (pre-formed)
Pure Copper half hard wire, 20 gauge
Black Leather cord

Note since this is a gift to friend who I know also watches my page I will be posting much more about such stones than what they are intended for so she may be able to see just what kind of power her necklace holds.

Intentional meanings for each item used

Tigers eye elements, Fire, Earth
This stone provides exactly what the bearer asks; it helps with stress, strain, and sharpens the senses.

Tiger’s eye is a very good stone for providing one with balance emotionally and spiritually, it can instill one with Protection, courage, energy, luck, divination. Practicality, vitality, discernment, fairness, and the physical action needed to deal with many of life’s complexities by helping one in taking effective actions in response to the needs and challenges of physical life and remaining grounded, calm, and centered regardless of the outer or inner situation when things are happening fast.

Tiger’s eye energizes the body to accomplish the imperatives of the will when one needs to persevere through extended time, hard effort and entangling difficulties by granting its energies and aids in maintaining balance between extremes. These can be the extreme of one’s own light and dark sides, ones humanity and spirit, or the extreme emotional states of joy and sorrow. It helps to find equilibrium in their emotional lives by creating harmony between people with different viewpoints, religious beliefs or approaches to life. It is an excellent ally in bringing harmony to families and relationships where differences of opinion or expression are causing discord.

Ok now I originally was going to use Blue tigers eye (aka falcons eye), but the stones I had just didn’t work visually with the rest of the necklace, so I went with Smokey Quartz instead….and the results worked out surprisingly well,

As it turns out Smokey Quartz is one of the most grounding and clearing stones available, it provides as a protective stone by encompassing a barrier of energy around the individual and provides protection from any detrimental forces present in the ethereal realm, it activates survival instincts and acts to improve one’s intuition in matters of responsibilities and in those activities that would be considered challenging.

It can help even the spaciest of individuals to fully function as physical beings by giving its wearer relaxation, releasing tension and helps with stress, enhances rational realistic and pragmatic thought process, even helps with headaches tense shoulders and back, relives pain and strengthens the nerves. However, like I said before please look into proven, more effective forms of medical aid before reaching for metaphysical stone aid.

it is a good stone for keeping things clear by purging the atmosphere of unspoken resentments or suppressed conflicts it does this by being able to absorb and transmute an almost unlimited amount of negativity and grounds it into the earth where it can be neutralized. Mainly due to its ability of pulling in negative energy quite easily.

However because of this one must remember to cleanse the stone on a regular basis in order to keep its strong functions pure.
Especially since Smokey Quartz has a way of drawing the ethereal into manifestation, when one is wearing or carrying a Smokey Quartz one is more likely to see such phenomena as ghosts, fairies, and spirit guides. This is due to the stone drawing the entities or phenomena into ones auric field and down to ones level of perception. Now whether you keep yourself open enough to such concepts or not, is all up to you, but nothing wrong with a simple but plausible word of warning. One might want to be wary and open minded in order to keep from being shocked or surprised by what one could possibly see or experience.

Special note on Garnets, from what I have discovered there are at least more than 16 kinds of garnet that I know of, yet from what I have at my availability, 3 of them are possibly in my possession.

These particular specimens are the closest match to the garnets that I bare, without a chemical test and micro study I can go only based with my limited means of deduction.

The Garnet used in this necklace more closely resembles that of An Almadine, but it bares many physical properties of a Rhodolite. There exists many different Garnet types, but from what I have learned I seem to bare at least two or three of such types, but through various deductions and study I believe that the Garnet in Lakens necklace is that of a Rhodolite Garnet

Many believed that the name Garnet was derived from the Latin word punica granatum, meaning pomegranate because of the resemblance to the seeds in the stone.

Now a lot of people know of Garnets basic attributes, Healing, protection, strength, but in reality Garnet bares SOOO much information that it’s taken me the span of 3 days to look it all up and separate what the stone is intended to be used for.

Garnets are also Worn to enhance bodily strength, endurance, and vigor, it is worn or used in magic to tap extra energy for ritual purposes where or carry one when excreting yourself, normally I prefer a lil creotine or a carb bar but hey that’s just the workout enthusiast in me <chuckles)

because it is a projective stone it is worn for projective purposes more than 500 years ago it was thought to drive off demons wishing to do harm and night phantoms, today the garnet is common with other types of projective stones, is seen to strengthen the aura and create a shield of highly charged positive energy vibrations that repels negative energies upon contact. Garnets are particularly prescribed as protection against thieves. For sake of example, say a would be mugger might suddenly decide to let you pass by “spooked’ by the “bad vibes” you’re putting out


Also known to be used as a healing stone used to relive skin conditions especially inflammations and regulates blood flow, though I don’t know how well this works, possibly if made into an elixir or some such, but as I said and will continue to say, see a licensed medical professional before trying any stone curative.

In the past garnets were exchanged between parting friends to symbolize their affection and to magically ensure that they meet again…had I know this I would have made a talisman for my best friend…oh well.

The particular color of Garnet will determine its exact effect, but will always work to focus and activate its intended use. True red garnets are the best energizing stones for the body, speeding up all processes and amplifying the effects of other stones placed nearby.

Thus a perfect reasoning for placing the stone directly in the middle of the necklace, though it is so small it can do so much. Which is why it is wise to not let Garnet be a standalone stone, its perfect for getting things underway or act as a kind of jumpstart but its best to let other stones continue the work or desired effect. This is mostly because Garnet is an energizer and motivator, all dull, stagnant situations can be revitalized by its energy, it tends to amplify the strength of other stones.

However this amplifies both their positive AND their difficult qualities, depending on the cast or intended use, positively Garnet will stimulate and activate. Negatively, it will irritate and annoy.

For example it can denote passion but not necessarily the long lasting variety. Or it can show anger that flairs up but quickly dies down again. It can even suggest new ideas or creativity that will fizzle out or become distracted if not balanced by other more grounded qualities, like fire, Garnet can sustain life and liveliness, or it can cause pain and burning.

This is why one must be careful when using the stones and why I must post so much about the stones so those I give them to will also be informed of both the positive and negative qualities of such minerals. So with that one must remember to keep one’s own emotional and mental state in their own field of play, this is why I stress to not just rely on the power of stones to solve your woes and troubles, they can help and promote peace and solution, but they are not meant to act as a standalone cure.

With that, the effects of Garnet are henceforth balanced out by the use of both the tigers eye and the Smokey quartz, it’s just cleansing and re-charging is needed from time to time, but not so much that you have to devote ample amounts of time and energy to do so, just set yourself into ones average routine and invoke quick sessions that feel, needed, not what it or should I, don’t make such actions a chore. Otherwise you only add to your problems and counteract the powers of the stones. Just do as you normally and naturally would do in your everyday life, that is the nature of Stones, Natural.

Now as I said before, there exists many different Garnet types, but from what I have learned I seem to bare at least two or three of such types, but through various deductions and study I strongly believe that the Garnet in  SteelJaw ‘s necklace is that of a Rhodolite Garnet which is good because Rhodolites effects can counter act the potential negative effects of Pure Garnet, but one can become dependent, so keeping your mindset on your own abilities is important.

Now many of the typical attributes are Optimism, zest for life, Charisma, Promotes trust, warm-heartedness, sexuality and sensuality; boosts virility, helps face challenges with optimism, stimulates circulation and blood flow.

But let’s see if we can look more into the less than well known stereotypes
Rhodolite Garnet offers physical emotional and spiritual support. Its gentle energies (as opposed to pure Garnets extremism) activate one’s connection to inner guides and guardian angels, while they simultaneously put one in touch with the wordless voice of the hearts yearnings. In this way it creates an inner alignment that allows one to know clearly what steps to take on the spiritual path. Meanwhile the grounding influence of Rhodolite assists one in making and keeping the inner commitments to take one forward on that path.

Essentially it allows you to look into yourself and see your dreams and desires, but keeps you from just waltzing in the clouds and supports you to do more than just fantasize and actually put forth effort into realizing your desires. This garnet strengthens the emotional body, making it easier to hear the call of spirit and walk the spiritual path.

Rodolite also offers emotional healing, particularly in the areas of guilt and shame or have had to deal with harsh and painful past memories that still to this day plague and harm one’s mind and soul. Those who were wounded in these ways may find that Rodolite lightens and lifts the burden of such memories. If the memories are not conscious, or deeply buried away this may manifest as a lightening of overall mood and a sense of quiet happiness, you can possibly come to terms with your hurtful past without reliving it. Unlike use with Black Obsidian, the difference is that black obsidian is meant to fully alleviate and help you understand what it is you’re healing from.

Rodolite garnet alleviates feelings of inadequacy or unworthiness that may block one’s ability to receive love and abundance. It can help one be more loving and considerate to oneself and others. it holds a frequency of comfort, and support. Many can say It is a wonderful ally to call upon when feeling unhappy, worthless or unable to see ones way forward.
This stone stimulates one’s self worth and assists one in owning one’s gifts and abilities and sharing them with others this increase in confidence is a direct result of Rhodolite’s loving reminder of one’s worthiness in the eyes of the Devine.

Jasper Elements, Various
The peculiar thing about Jasper is that it’s so vast in types and varieties one can’t truly distinguish a one common type, there is just so much of it in so many forms.

Jasper is a very Abundant stone and has been used in many forms and rituals since the earliest of recorded history, its uses widely vary from healing to protection to forms of healthcare to even Beauty. Generally Jasper is worn or carried to promote mental processes and to restrain Dangerous desires or whims that could lead to hazardous situations.

This mineral has been known as the “supreme nurturer “, particularly this stone is one to act as a kind of reminder that us as great a beings as we are, are not just here in this physical world just to fulfill our own needs but also for those around us, to bring joy and substance to others, assisting others to release the bonds of constraint.

It is conductive to awareness allowing one to celebrate situations of isolation, giving us that feeling that just because we are alone at times that we are not entirely so, or not is such a great matter as we may feel at times. It helps on to realize that one is always remembered by others, others who can often be called upon to provide insight, comfort, aid in many forms, and simply friendship and company.

This is also a stone that accepts intense responsibility in the realm of protection; it protects against negativity and helps one to be grounded to the stabilizing energies of the earth. Energies that can stabilize the aura, providing for a cleansing effect to both smooth dysfunctional energies and eliminate negativity, it helps to unite the energy field of the physical with that of the ethereal in order to balance the form and direct one toward ones goals.

It is said that jasper that contains particular colors bare many various attributes, for example, jasper containing yellow was used to assist and to protect during times of travel, physical or spiritual. Jasper that bares the color red, was thought to induce health and re-birth, bringing freshness in ideas, strategies to the holder, Jasper containing the blue color was used to connect one with the ethereal and “after” worlds, not much is known about how this works or what such worlds they are referring but that’s a story for another day.

But with that one can gain a general idea so to what various forms of jasper are capable of, the particular jasper used in  Steeljaw ‘s necklace bare much red in it, thus is used it for its healing capabilities, however through closer study I was able to deduce that this particular for of jasper bares a specific name entitled Lizards stone Jasper.

Interestingly enough this form of jasper has been used to assist one in sleuthing and in detective work. It has been shown that, with conscious intent. One can project a kind of invisibility when necessary to further these pursuits.

It can assist one in accessing secrets ( those secrets which are relevant to the course the course of action that one may take, and which are hidden by another) however attempting to access secrets that would not be beneficial for the good of all, will not be accomplished with this form of energy.
This is an energy that is meant to assist one is accessing ones inner realm of private tranquility, especially during times of turmoil and making sure one does not take one’s self so seriously even when they must show a level of maintained stoicism.

Hematite Elements, Fire, Earth
Hematite is a very strange stone; at first glance it seems to be nothing more than a heavy, solid, and silvery black metal rock. But it bares’ a rather curious property of “healing” itself. Make a small scratch on the surface of the stone, and then rub your finger over it. The scratch may disappear.
Its name alone is something of a mystery in itself. To ancients, hematite was what we now know as bloodstone. Hematite though when worked on by a lapidary wheel, will seem to “Bleed” and produce stains that look almost like blood. Some say the name is derived from the Greek word for blood, a reference to the color this mineral in its powdered form.

Hundreds of thousands of years before the discovery of iron, Hematite was once a major trade item. In its metallic form it was used for jewelry and ornaments, but most precious was the fine-grained ocher- an earthly ,iron rich compound used as a sacred red pigment, which was regularly used in rituals and ceremonies. Hematite still continues to be an important source of red pigment today.

Aside from that, Hematite is well known for giving its barer strengths in progress, engagement, promotes striving for improvement of one’s situation in life, with that one gains help to pursue aims with a strong determination and will fight for them if necessary.

Now three major properties of Hematite are Healing, grounding, as well as divination <tail wags)

For healing, Hematite is said to be the sacred blood of mother earth herself, said to hold such gifted properties and has been valued longer than any other mineral with its iron content, hematite has a strengthening influence on the physical body- especially the blood, body temperature, and circulatory system. Of all the grounding stones, hematite is perhaps the surest. Very few people fail to be brought down to a steady, focused state due to its stabilizing influence on the physical body.

Also highly prized due to drawing in illness from the body, and as with just about all stones, it is held in the hands while visualizing the afflicted area being healed or treated, then placed on the skin directly over the afflicted area. A necklace of stones can also be worn for healing.

For grounding Hematite is worn for grounding and stabilizing purposes, and to focus ones attention on the physical plane. Hematite is the most well known stone for grounding oneself in the body and the physical world. It can counteract spaciness and confusion, helping one to see practical concerns and move forward with useful action. Hematite can be used to balance the auric field and align the Chakras (note* I know only so much about Chakras and as such I will be posting very little about their connection with stone use. Though I do acknowledge the fact that they do work well with each other)
It is said that when Hematite is used by a fully balanced personality, Hematite can provide access to spirit travel and astral worlds alike.
Which brings us to more mystical aspects of hematite…

Scrying and metaphysical projection, traditionally iron was held to be the only protection against the Faerie Kingdoms. Today, Hematite will prevent you from being taken “away with the fairies” as they used to say, or more appropriately and believably, from becoming confused or “spaced out”.
In fact Fairy tales and folk legends instruct us on the attractions and pitfalls of entering the spirit world unprepared; in this realm iron is one of the main protections against harm.

Now if one is to still conduct special means of this sort of practice then I cannot stop you only warn you, such practices are quite possibly dangerous if caution is not taken in effect… but perhaps i can start you off with something safe. A special Scrying technique I have learned is to hold a large piece of hematite in a darkened room, light a red candle, and settle before it so that the hematite bares the reflection of the red candles flame on it. Gaze at the reflection and visualize a question. The answer will come to you.

Now with that in mind, still I cannot go without noting some negative aspects of this strong grounding stone. Negative prospects of hematite can include stubbornness and inflexibility, or an inability to move away from a current condition. So one must take caution with its highly strong grounding capabilities, if one is too stiff in such matters your ideals can become stale and brittle, learn to be more motivated, and remember to free your flow of mind.

Hematite is of manifest union between Spirit and the world. Its frequency is that of the over-arching resonant field that contains the polarities of light and dark. Positive and negative, higher self and shadow self, soul and body, Ect.
Point is Hematite brings the highest frequency into the range of physicality, which means we can manifest our highest purpose through our physical existence. This is not a stone to escape the outer edges of experience. It is instead, a stone of integration bringing all experience into a cohesive whole. Its energy demands that one be grounded and connected to the soul of the Earth, as well as one’s own soul.

Only though this dynamic of grounding enlightenment can the highest frequency be brought to the earth. Hematite encompasses both male and female polarities- the yin and the yang- creating a balanced energy that contains the opposites within the whole.

Manifestation is one of the most common problems for spirituality oriented people. Many do not realize that it is not enough to travel to the higher realms and experience expanded awareness. One goal perhaps the primary one of human evolution when you consider the premise for many major religions we as a species have produced, is to bring the energies of the ethereal realms into manifestation here in the physical plane. Hematite is an ideal tool for in this work. Some say that simply carrying or wearing a Hematite can assist one in bringing ones dreams and aspirations into reality and in learning the difference between a true vision and a fantasy.

Although this stone enhances mental capability, it provides for a calming atmosphere and helps one to realize that the only limitations which exist are those self-limiting concepts within the mind.
