a highly personal piece that I had to rattle out tonight in a sudden burst of inspiration. i usually don't upload these sort of vulnerable pieces but i'm surprisingly happy with how this one turned out, although i might end up deleting this later regardless haha
i have a lot of forgiving to do; grieving an abusive parent is hard and its even harder when your mental health is stumbling too
but i will be okay. i got this [flex emoji]

If you need a shoulder hun, I'm here. It's...yeah, it's difficult.
Just remember. You don't have to forgive. It's okay to hurt. Just because someone is now gone does not mean that they've magically become a better person.
The only person you need to learn to forgive is yourself. Forgive yourself for feeling upset. Forgive yourself for being angry. Forgive yourself for being unable to cope. Forgive yourself of all the dark and painful things you feel towards this situation - because they are very human emotions, very real things to feel and you are well within your right to feel them. It's okay to be sad. It's okay to wish that they could have been a better person for you. It's okay to look upon the good times with longing or with anger. It's okay to feel.
And you'll be okay, hun. You don't have to be strong, or feel strong. It's okay to be weak, to want someone else to carry you. To somehow make it right. But I know that, when you're ready, you'll be able to stand again with your head held high, all the stronger for it.
