i think Bea doesn't cry because she has to be the strong one, she had to look after her dad, pay the bills, and do all the work, she most likely cried a lot, but learnt at a young age that crying gets you no where.
that's also why, when Mae upsets Bea at the party is my fav part, it shows that these two need each other, and i don’t mean in a romance way, there strengths and weaknesses work with each other, i don’t think they can be truly happy or complete with out each other.
