I didn't see a reason to make this "furry". I even kept a lot of the human names, though I did put Eli in as a surrogate for myself. If you want, you can imagine they're all big dogs instead of people.

I laughed out loud in the end. I laughed already when the one guy gets to the part where he tells he was impaled and died. That was a good laugh. Yeah, I somewhat know the type who has always done the same but better or more extreme. Annoying... But entertaining, if you know what strings to pull. Yup, good read... And now, I have nothing more to say. Great little piece, I really enjoyed reading this. Good work.
I felt somewhat lucky to be there, as a lot of the other machine operators had been sent home. But I didn't feel lucky enough to work with much enthusiasm.
... that is a lovely thought for this retail slave to stumble across on this, the last gasp of the Christmas Shopping season :p
and yeah, there's one on every shift ... a couple on mine, actually ;)

Strangely enough, I had this job during a Christmas break from school..needed the money to pay for things for the upcoming semester. The day after I was in the stockroom taping up mailbags, I had to sit next to a big roll of paper with addresses printed on it; the paper was fed into a machine which broke up the perforations between the different sheets and loaded the separated pages into a hopper for someone to sort.
I wasn't sorting anything; I was turning a crank attached to the hub of the big wheel to keep it spinning at exactly the right speed. I did this for 12 hours (except during my breaks).
