Exactly as the title says. Specifically because, that's exactly what I wanted to draw. xD
See, Ru's back has a few little markings too- mainly the mane, and the stripe. But I -never- draw his back. You almost never get to see it. x3 So, I decided to draw something specifically so it would show his back. However, the first thing I sketched up was basically him entirely from behind, it felt so empty, and kinda boring. SO I turned it slightly so you could see some of his muzzle poking out. It doesn't showcase his back markings quite as wel as I wanted originally, but it's much more interesting this way, artistically.
I'm actually quite pleased with this one :3 The lighting is fairly intersting, there's warms and cools, I'm adding some light to the shaded side of things to make them look a little more realistic... all in all, I think I'm starting to get the hang of this shiz. Even found a fairly decent way of colouring silver fur, though I'm still working on that one.
Haha, this is such an out of character picture. He looks like he's -trying- to be all cool and stuff, which just makes it really lame. Also, I -hate- jeans, I wouldn't be caught dead in them. xD Not to mention I don't act like this because I'm not nearly as sexy as him and don't have the self confidence. We'll just consider this picture non-canon and move on xD
So, what do you guys think? I've had people poking me about commissions... well, pretty much since I closed them. You guys suppose I'm ready to open them again soon?

Hrmmm.... actually... are you absolutely sure you're interested? If you are, I might take you and another person or two who's asked recently in a less official capacity (meaning I'm not gonna write up the journal and all that, just kinda quitely take a few xD) and see how that goes before diving in.

Yeah.... I made him look a little -too- good. It's starting to make me feel guilty 'cause I don't look anywhere near that toned, haha. But the only pictures of male backs I could find were all model-type guys so, even after removing as much as I could you still sorta see that influence.
I'd kinda like Ru to look sorta like me, I'm pretty close only with no muscle tone to speak of and slightly less thin around the waist. Ru's got a soft tummeh. x3 But I pretty much only know how to draw one specific way, 'cause I fail like that. xD

xD man, I love this. Did I every say I loved the smooth curve of the small of a guy's back? >.>; 'cause that's totally sexy...
Other than that, all I can really think for helpful is maybe the upper arm is a little short? And it might look good if you could see a little of his fingers sticking out the other side of his hair. But then, I'm always fond of not hiding hands or whatnot with the convenient excuse that they're behind something.
But really, this is lovely torso anatomy. I wanna nuzzle the base of his tail... xD;

I honestly hid the hands purely because it seemed like it made more sense- I actually have hair that length, and any time I do something like this, my fingers are more or less entirely covered by hair. I envisioned him with his arms sorta crossed, and his fingers curled, if that helps...
I know I'm not very great at them, but I'm pretty much past the point of hiding hands as a cop out xD I don't always do the best job, but when they need to be there I make sure to draw 'em :P Thanks though, I'm glad the rest of it's okay x3

As for clothing... uhm... I'm not even sure what they're called. I think they're cargo pants x3 I generally like clothing to be much too big and rather baggy and loosefitting, but not in the way where it hangs really low, that just looks retarded. I dunno, they're like halfway between jeans and sweatpants and they work for me. xD

Despite being non-canon i really like it. I mean, not to say the other stuff is bad, all of us here would agree its all very good or we wouldn't be here. But artistically, from a figure art work standpoint, this might be one of the best things you've done recently ^^ very nicely done mister wolf. :D
