Routine
The harsh beeping of Rainier's alarm clock slowly roused him. The jaguar grumbled quietly, head beneath the thick, navy blue covers. One of his hands sluggishly stumbled and groped about for his clock. He gripped it heavily, pressing the smooth black button up top, muting the noise. He rolled back over and sighed.
"Nnngh.." The teen muttered groggily. He took his time, slowly sitting up in bed. He rubbed his closed eyes with his balled up fists, then followed up with a tired yawn and a stretch. There was no use delaying the inevitable; he had to shower and get dressed, unless he wanted to miss the bus.
Rainier shifted, dangling his feet over the edge of the bed. His toes kneaded and gripped the carpet, claws lightly scratching the material there. The jaguar yawned one more time, then stood up, getting out of his messy bed. Still half asleep, he wandered over to his desk, peering down at a little makeshift bed.
A little orange cat was already sitting up. It seems that the alarm woke him up too, saving Rainier the effort of doing it on his own. The sight of the tiny feline brought a sleepy grin to the jaguar's face, and he leaned down, bringing his face closer to the miniature cat.
"Morning, Star. How'd you sleep?" The jaguar reached out, rubbing a finger between Star's ears.
"Mmh.. Slept okay, sir. Tired, little bit sore after yesterday." Star explained, tilting his head towards the scritching and petting. His tail swayed happily, poking out from past the makeshift covers.
Rainier grinned again. "Sorry about that. I lost track of time, honest. Didn't know you'd been in my shoe for five hours." The larger feline chuckled a little, clearly not very sorry. He gently scooped Startide up, beginning to make his way out of his room and into the bathroom.
"I think I still smell jaguar feet." Star teased, sticking his tongue out. He earned a playful scoff from Rainier, as the jaguar exited into the hallway, and made his way into the bathroom. Star was deposited near the sink, and Rainier began to strip.
"My feet smell nice! Remember the time I borrowed Joey's micro?" Rainer wiggled out of his shirt, dumping it on the tiles floor. "Joey said his little guy wouldn't stop teasing him about his paws smelling stronger than mine." The jaguar dropped his pants, stripping out of his underwear. He plucked Star up, stepping into the tub.
"He was all like 'weh, Rainy's aren’t like this, you should lotion more often'." Startide grinned and laughed. "Yeah, I suppose you smell okay, sir. Just okay, though." He teased, as Rainier turned the shower on, and warm water cascaded down onto the jaguar's head.
"Yeah, exactly! So really, you should thank me. You should be all like.." Rainier cleared his throat, voice taking on a higher pitch. "Please Master, leave me in your shoe during gym class. I wanna soak up your sweat, I wanna smell like your perfect paws." Rainier mocked, laughing about it afterwards. He began to shampoo his fur, scrubbing at it with a loofah.
"I'm only teasing! You know I love your feet, sir." Star smiled cheerfully. He closed his eyes and held his breath, just as the bottle of shampoo drew near. Rainier squeezed a drop of shampoo out onto the tiny orange cat, and began to scrub him clean.
"Yeah, I know! You're the best micro." The jaguar rubbed between Star's ears again. Rainier scrubbed himself clean, quickly doing the same for his tiny cat. Showering wasn't terribly long, if only because Rainier had to dress and eat before the bus passed by. Another five minutes in the shower, under the warm stream, and he shut the water off.
Just like usual, Rainy set Startide on the sink, handing him a tiny towel. Rainier stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel for himself, and began to scrub himself dry.
"Smells like pancakes, huh?" Rainy remarked, tilting his head up and sniffing at the air. The warm scent of fluffy pancakes wafted beneath the door, and the Jag's stomach growled instinctively. Hot pancakes, butter, and syrup.
"Mm.. Your mom makes the best pancakes." Startide sighed dreamily, letting his towel drop to the side once he was nice and dry. "Hey, remember that time you tried to make pancakes and you almost burned the house d--"
"Oh, shut up! Shush or you're going in my shoe today too." Rainier playfully threatened his tiny friend. He wrapped his towel around his waist, then plucked Star up and exited the now-steamy bathroom, creeping back to his room.
"Cold, cold.." Rainy muttered, closing the door behind him. He set Startide back onto his desk, and began to slip on a fresh pair of underwear, some jeans, and a t-shirt. He fished a hoodie out of his closet, easing into it.
"Rainy in a hoodie! That's a rare sight." Startide called out from the desk, teasing the jaguar. He watched as Rainier approached, crouching infront of the desk.
"See, now I gotta punish you!" Rainier joked, pinching Star up by the scruff. He held him above his mouth, which was wide open, tongue rolling out like a pink carpet.
"Micros aren't friends, they're food." The jaguar stated dismissively, releasing the wiggling cat. Startide plunged into his mouth, landing right on his owner's tongue. Rainier cocked his head back, making an exaggerated swallow. There was a soft gulping noise, followed by frantic squeaking.
The jaguar sighed and rubbed his stomach, closing his eyes..
"Some people actually do that, you know!" Star's voice came from Rainer's cheek. The jaguar had only pretended to swallow him-- it wasn't the first time he'd teased his micro with that.
"Yeah, that's kind of a waste though!" Rainier giggled. He pinned Startide against his cheek, squishing him against it with his tongue. He kept the little cat in his mouth, as he exited his room and descended the stairs, making his way into the dining room and attached kitchen.
Star was smeared in drool, after having been bathed. He was stuck in the hot, humid mouth of his friend. Every idle shift of the bigger feline's tongue jarred and shifted him about, further smearing and smothering him against Rainer's tongue. He could hear voices, but it was tough to make anything out with the jaguar's tongue smothering him.
"Hey mom!" Rainy called out, hopping up and sitting on one of the high stools parked at the breakfast bar. He dangled his feet, his toes playing with the tall stool's wooden legs.
"Morning, dear. Sleep well?" Rainier's mother looked back at him, smiling. She was in the process of setting Rainier's pancakes on a platter.
"Yep! Slept pretty well. Had a dream that Star was normal-height. It felt weird." He explained, toying with the silver fork placed infront of him. He twirled it between his fingers while he spoke, voice a little slurry.
"Yeah? That certainly sounds.. Interesting. Speaking of which, where's Star?" The older jaguar brought Rainier's plate to him, setting a glass of juice infront of her son, too. She paused, inspecting Rainy.. Then rolled her eyes, hands on her hips. "Alright, come on. Spit him out."
"I had to teach him a very important lesson." Rainier grinned, grabbing a napkin. He held it up to his mouth, and he spit the cat into it. After squeezing and scrunching him up a bit, he placed Star down by his plate. He used his fork to cut a section of pancake off for Star, and began to get to work eating his portion.
"Oh, I don't mind! Honest! It's fun!" Star squeaked out, tail lashing happily. His fur was a little messy, but he was fine. He grabbed onto the piece of pancake that Rainier had cut off, and bit into it. Mouth full, he piped up. "These are really good, Rainier's mom!"
The jaguar just shook her head, a little grin on her face. "Oh, you two.. Well, at least you're getting along. You know, they've done studies on the benefits of giving pet micros to teenagers. They make you more responsible, so when you have kids of your own--"
Rainier objected, mouth full. "Thath nah happeninh."
"-- Or if you adopt, then you'll be ready to handle them." Rainier's mother finished, exiting the kitchen. She rounded the bar, crouching and giving the other jaguar a kiss on the cheek. "I'm going to shower and get ready for work. See you tonight! Good luck with school, dear."
Rainier swallowed the remaining chunk of pancake he had been chewing, calling out to his mother as she began to climb the steps. "Bye mom! See ya later!"
There was a distant honk outside, which startled both Rainier and Star. Star had only finished about half of his piece, before Rainy scooped him up, stuffed him in a pants-pocket. "Crap! Sorry Star, I'll let you share my lunch!" He called out, scrambling to gather all of his belongings.
Rainy slung his backpack on, darting out of his home, sprinting his way to the long, yellow bus that was waiting for him. To the bus, to another long day of school..
...
"So you see, that's the importance of the unit circle." A brown-furred rabbit explained, pointing to the whiteboard at the front of the classroom. A quiet murmur rose up amongst the students; they were probably asking each other questions.
Rainier reached down, giving Star a little pat on the head. The cat had been placed on his desk, giving him a bit of free time outside of the usual areas that Rainy kept him.
"Doing okay?" Rainy grinned, rubbing the space between the cat's ears. He enjoyed watching Star purr and lean into the petting.
"Mm.. Yep!" Star answered, tail cheerfully lashing a bit. "Is it almost lunch time? I'm hungry."
"I thought I gave you a grape in second period. Hungry little thing." The jaguar teased, chuckling. He glanced up at the clock-- ten minutes before the end of third period. “Well, what do you know? Time to go.”
Rainier began to pack up, much like everyone else around him. The professor knew better than to try to lecture in the last five minutes; nobody listened. He walked over to his desk and sat down on the edge. As his students lined up by the door, he cleared his throat. "Page one hundred and twelve, thirty through fifty, odd only. Have it done by tomorrow!"
With that, the digital bell beeped, releasing students from their classes, letting them get their lunches. Rainier, with Star in his pocket again, made his way to the cafeteria. He sat down in his usual spot, and took his lunch out of a brown paper bag. Star was also released from his pocket, plopped down onto the table. The cat looked dizzy.
"Lunch-time!" Rainier grinned, petting Star again. He pulled a water bottle, a turkey sandwich, and a fruit-cup out of his bag. He also pulled out a rather long strand of floss out of his bag, and Startide's reaction was an immediate flush in his cheeks.
"O-oh! We're doing that today, huh?" Startide cleared his throat a little. He watched Rainier measure the floss, before reaching down and looping one end around Star's left leg.
"We sure are! You're the one who asked me to do it again. Weirdo." Rainier teased, winking at the cat. He tied the floss around Startide's leg, then tied the opposite end around a fang. He gently plucked him up, bringing the little cat to his mouth. He set Star right atop his tongue, then closed his jaws. Just as he finished, a raccoon sat down opposite him.
"Oh, you two playing that game again?" The masked creature grinned. "I tried that with my old micro, but my floss broke. Kinda sucks, I liked that one too."
"Yeah? You've gotta try extra strength floss, Chase. It doesn't have any issue with stomach acid. Also, I usually take antacids before I try this stuff." Rainier explained, picking up a half of his sandwich. He brought it up to his mouth, and bit down.
Startide watched in awe, as the jaguar's teeth sunk into the contents of the sandwich. They cleaved right through ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. A section of sandwich was clipped off, and the bigger feline's dexterous tongue carefully maneuvered the chunk onto his molars. Star, sitting safely in the middle of his owner's tongue, marveled at how Rainier's teeth closed down and began to chew the food up. It was rendered a shapeless mass, which was then pushed back onto that tongue, and moved back.
Startide braced himself, as the mass collided with him and moved him backwards. He was practically enveloped by the mass of chewed food, taken along with it and swallowed.
"Oh, there he goes!" Chase perked up, watching the floss around Rainy's fang go taut. There was a little bulge along the jaguar's throat as he swallowed; it was visible for a couple of seconds, then it passed on.
"Mm. Always feels good. Too bad you're not a micro, or I'd probably just straight-up eat you." Rainy grinned, teasing the raccoon.
"If anyone's the micro, it's you. I'd just stick you in my sneaker before gym. You'd get squashed like a bug. A gross jaguar-bug." Chase teased back. He took a bite of his slice of pizza, then cleared his throat and waved to someone behind Rainy.
Two furry hands clamped over Rainier's eyes. He squirmed a little, laughing. "I know it's you, Rick! You're literally the only person that does that."
"Aw. Darn." The pair of hands pulled away from Rainier, and a fox sat down next to him. Rick tossed an apple up into the air, catching it again. "So! What'cha guys doing?"
"Rainy's eating his micro again. Y'know, the floss thing?" Chase explained, biting into his pizza again. Rainier nodded, opening his mouth and showing off the floss looped around a fang.
"Oh yeah, I remember that game! That's how I lost my second micro." Rick chuckled. He took a sip from his water bottle.
"If you were careful, maybe yours would last longer than a month." Rainier teased. He raised his sandwich to his muzzle and took another bite. He chewed, then swallowed. "So! You guys seen the new episode of Shifters?"
...
While Rainy and his friends chattered on, Star was stuck in the jaguar's stomach. Every once in a while, chewed-up food rained down on him, leaving his pelt all sticky with mushed sandwich.
Most micros probably wouldn't have enjoyed it, but Star was one of the few exceptions. He loved being in his owner's stomach, and he certainly didn't mind the food raining down on him. It wasn't a big deal-- Rainy could wash him off in the evening.
The little orange cat pushes his hands against the rugae-lined walls of Rainy's stomach. He rubbed the slick folds, hands squishing between the folds there. It was like he was giving the jaguar a massage from the inside, rubbing and kneading at the slick walls of Rainier's belly.
As Star rubbed, the sphincter above him flexed, and more chewed food landed in, sharing the cramped space with him. He seemed content. Just about as content as Rainier, who was busy talking with his friends.
Time passed by faster than Rainier thought. Soon, lunch was over, and he had to return to his last couple of classes for the day. He gave Rick and Chase hugs, and the three friends dumped their trays, filtering out of the cafeteria along with the rest of the students.
...
The day passed by quickly. Math, history, and biology (which was extra amusing, since they covered the digestive system) classes all flew by, and soon enough, Rainy was on the bus, headed home. He had decided to keep Star in his stomach-- he'd take him out after he was home.
It wasn't until Rainier was home and settled in, that he finally slipped into the bathroom, and slowly pulled Startide out using the floss wrapped around the tiny cat's leg. He carefully pulled, watching himself in the bathroom mirror. Soon enough, his micro was visible.. And boy, was he messy.
"How was class, sir?" Star grinned, wiping his muzzle a bit. He was brought to the sink, where Rainier began to wash and scrub him.
"Same thing as usual! Bet you had fun, huh?" Rainier teased, warm water flowing over his hands, as he cleaned Star. He pulled the cat out of the stream, and began to dry him with a hand-towel.
"Mhm! It's always nice being in your stomach. It's all warm and stuff." Star helped out, rubbing into the towel to get the last of the water off of his fur. He was scooped up in a paw, brought to Rainy's muzzle, and given an affectionate kiss.
"Well.." Rainier began, making his way back to his room. "I've got some homework to do. Luckily for you, I'm gonna give you the honor of rubbing King Rainier's paws while I work!" He teased, sitting down in his chair. He placed Startide on the ground beneath his desk, and started to unlace his sneakers.
Startide performed a little mock-bow. "As you wish, your highness." He could barely hold back his snickering.. Until a warm, large pad eclipsed the light, and playfully smushed him down into the soft carpet. Startide shifted, rearranging himself beneath the jaguar's foot.
Rainier sighed happily. Occasionally, he flexed his toes. Sometimes he ground his foot on his micro, lightly twisting back and forth. He was careful, not wanting to accidentally harm Star.
"Right.. Let's get this report started."
