Ty for the input - and it depends on your definitions of rough/square. It might or might not have been a stylistic choice. :v
From the three main types of "line-art feelz" (don't know the exact term) i prefer triangular > round > square, and there are many triangles in the head. If you mean the look of the back of the head by square, that is a decision to follow the physics of specific types/states of hair to provide contrast to and emphasize the curves of the rest of the body.
If you mean unfinished-looking by rough, i think i don't see it, but the fact that i spent most of the time on the head might influence my view on it.
(i'm glad you like it, anyway)

It is probably mostly the style then, as i found the body to be rounder while the face has a lot of straight angles, but now that i think about it, that is indeed usually how it is in real life, and I am most likely just used to art with slightly less realistic anatomy.
It is a fantastic piece in any case, and it is a crystal clear fav and download.

Thanks! Although i can't say i agree if i took it very literally/technically and not as a compliment, ahah... She uses a different kind of paper, apparently a 60g something, looks like a paper rougher than what i use which is ~120g ivory paper, or the smoothest paper i can get my hands on. We style fur differently, among many things. My technique is like copper etching - only linear hatching, no crosshatching - whereas she seems to use smudging, which i would only do if i was working with charcoal. She also seems to use a harder pencil, like HB. I use 2B. I also use sharp shadows, she uses soft shadows. Not sure if she uses a mechanical pencil but you would normally not use it if you were going to smudge so i assume not (i use a 0.5 Rotring). Ayy no i'm not fun at parties, i usually sit in the corner and siiilently juuudge.
