Ashley Poindexter and Tavarius Septimus, students at the B3C, find themselves and a few of their classmates on an impromptu field trip to the world of Urth. The campus maintenance supervisor, Kludge, had recruited them for a mission to repair the Anvil of Hephestus, a once legendary item now used as a power source for the cafeteria's oven.
The 2 had been separated from the other members of their group when suddenly, a land shark rose up and tore into the roof of Ashley's car, "The Rolling Coffin". Ashley managed to shake it off by severing the roof, turning his car into an instant convertible and peeled off. The land shark attacked again but, using some impressive driving skills, Ashley managed to get away, though he lost the tires on one side of the car. Together, he and his passenger, Tavarius, form a plan to pull around and attack the land shark by charging it with Tavarius balanced on the hood of the car while Ashley balances it on its two good wheels at ramming speed.
With the two of them charging towards the land shark with the car on two wheels and it headed right for them, this was very much jousting, but Jersey-style.
