Okay.. so I'm sure many people wonder why the frickin hell I "spam" DVD box shots of some of my favorite collections I picked up.. I dunno.. to be honest - I'm just a big collector of classic cartoons.. I generally like to collect classic cartoons and TV shows that I grew up with as a kid.. kind of a sentimental value.
But anyway.. I digress.. this TV series was one that I remember watching as soon as I came home from school when I was a kid.. and its great to finally be able to own this series on DVD.. and at such a reasonable price too! Seasons one and two are currently out in retail stores for a sale price of $15.99
X-Men aired on TV around 1993 and was a long running cartoon series (6 seasons?) that was entirely financed by Marvel.. therefore it is a cartoon series that stays true to the original animation and roots of the classic X-Men comic books.. The voice cast was essentially a bunch of "no name" voice talent with the odd celebrity guest.
I always thought the voice actor who did Wolverine was excellent!.. He definitely captured Wolverine's gruff, sarcastic and nasty attitude towards life and friends rather well.. aside from that, one of my voice directors - John Stocker - was the voice of Graydon Creed and Leech in the series..
To me - the X-Men TV series was and is probably one of the only animated series which properly took the original comic book plots, storylines and characters and did a great job with it.. But I suppose that'll happen when Marvel comics finances your ass.. lol
