After Celestia's brainwashing and enslavement into an Eggslave, the former Princess had targetted her sister to join the ranks of Eggman's Equestrian Egg Army. Luna had put up a fight, of course. She didn't want to go down without a fight and for a moment it almost seemed that she was going to win. However, her sister was stronger than her, in the end, so Luna had only one more choice. She had to call upon her Nightmare Moon self. As she allowed the corruption to spread through her, her thoughts became more evil and depraved, like Nightmare Moon. Before the process could finish, though... her sister zapped her with the hypnobeam.

Once enslaved and converted into an Eggslave, Luna had become a new mare. Nightmare Luna, a mare trapped between two extremes, a mare of evil and sensual pleasure. Even if she somehow managed to get free again, she'd be permanently corrupted into Nightmare Luna. Until that day, though, she would remain an Egg General, commander of the armies and obedient to her Mistress, Celestia, and her Master Eggman.
