A few years back, I was hiking along the river valley when I came across a downed bumble bee. She was alive but very much overheated. Which made sense. I mean it was a billion degrees out and -I- was dying. I couldn't imagine what it must be like for such a little fluff ball.
I shunted her gently onto a cool rock under the shade of a bush and dropped some water from my bottle next to her. A good solid minute or so of face-first drinking and a little shade rest later and she happily buzzed back to work, feeling much more like herself again.
A random discussion in Telegram last night reminded me of that day and I decided to draw my poor tired, overheated little friend.
I think I'm getting the hang of plus-sized characters. They squish out in weird ways that are oddly... cute?
