She grabbed her husband's hand tightly, holding it till her fingers swole red. Barely struggling out to talk in between her breaths and screams. "Xavier.. Please.." But before she could finish, the doctor interrupted her, by a delicate spreading of her legs. "Just breath Ma'am. Concentrate, breath and push."
"Keep.. AAAHHH! keer.. Her..!" She gasped out, pain flooding her every thought. Pouring into the strength of her gripping her partner and the bed beneath her. Wailing like a banshee.
"Hanako, we already decided to-"
"KEEP! HER!"
"But.. We'll talk later. Just breath hun."
The ride home was quiet. Beethoven on the car radio drowning out the inaudible emotions, of the new father. Shofur silently keeping to his job, eyes locked to the road; a soft shaking in his hands, while the only female voice was the curious coohing of the new daughter. "It's your fault." Xavier quietly sobbed underneath his breath, above the car seat of the unwanted miracle.
Tears erupted from the little girl's eyes. Loud whines and cries breaking the peaceful aura of the mansion. Xavier instantly frowning, before offering the newborn over to his butler. "Andrew, take care of, it." Quickly the old man took the young child, rocking her softly, while setting to warming a bottle of milk for her on the side.
"Sir, you must name her at some point. I think the late mistress would enjoy a name similar to hers."
"Don't talk Andrew. "
"Sorry sir."
Xavier made his way from the room, off to his private office. The youngling still in the Butler's hands. "Child. Never worry how others treat you. Your mother would have you as a blessing. I think, she would call you, Hanayo. Miss Eston." The Butler's soft voice, and the presence of bottle being guided to her lips, soothed the savage tears.
The little human struggled up. Hands grasping the frame of the door for support, legs shaking underneath her pudgy little body, as she put one foot in front of the other.
"Master! Miss Hanayo is-"
"Be quiet Andrew. You know i hate that name you gave her."
"Sorry sir."
The butler frowned, lowering himself in a bit of shame, only breaking from the trance when the little one lost her stride, to plop down onto her diaper. Quickly he took her, leading away from the office before the crying had a chance to distract the sir.
"Tis a cruel fate played on the little angel." The nanny frowned towards Andrew. "Such a pretty lass, with that monster for a father."
"Careful Miss Fran, if the master heard you-"
"Bah. He's up there with his music again. Devil himself couldn't wake him from that trance." Fran stepped over the baby gate while she talked. Sitting down cross legged to grab a ball, slowly sliding it towards the child. "When do you think the lass is finally gonna talk?"
"Whenever she is ready, i suppose. I'm told the late mistress was slow to talk as well."
Hanayo quietly stood outside the opened office door. Usually she would merely sit outside and listen to the music, but today the door was open. Tilting her head curiously, she watched as her father made strange motions. Pretending to hold something under his chin, and moving his other hand back and forth, while paying attention to the music. Green eyes wide, she imitated her father's movements. Not as refined, but still playing whatever game he was; only broke from the train of thought as two warm hands wrapped around her, hoisting her off the ground. "You know you aren’t to bother your father while in his office little Missy" Fran sternly stated. Shaking her finger but giving no more punishment than that.
Fran dragged the brush through Hanayo's hair, swishing cleanly through like a hand grazing the top of a stream. All of the knots brushed through a while ago, but no intent of yet stopping. "Your birthday is coming up, little miss. What should we tell your father you want?" An eager, curious smile mixed with the nanny's accent.
The still young girl paused for a moment. Thinking of all the things she could have, all the things the other girls had, but she knew what she wanted truly. But wasn't sure how to ask. "I want.. This." Hanayo calmly did the position she had mimicked her father doing so many times when she was younger. Drawing her hand down whatever was poised between her neck and shoulder. Closing her eyes, remembering the music he always did it to.
Fran gasped, smiling and clasping her hands together, before setting down the brush. "The little mistress wants a violin! I bet your father would be very proud of that! Ill make sure he knows!"
"Your father would be proud of that." Hanayo quietly smiled.
Hanayo, with calm, slow grace, as she had been taught. Peeled back the paper of her gift instead of tearing through the paper as a regular kid her age might. Fran and Andrew both happily watching, even more excited than she was. While Xavier kept a sullen frown across his lips from a chair further back. She had only asked for one thing, and she's always gotten what she'd asked for. So surprise wasn't the emotion of the hour, as hanayo opened up into a finely crafted violin with her name across the wooden body. Slowly, with deep breaths, Hanayo drowned out the sounds of her party. Placing the violin to her neck as she knew how. Taking the bow, to lightly drag it down the strings. It shrieked in unpleasant lack of practice. Drawing open Hanayo's eyes, to an empty chair where her father sat. "I need to get better" she thought.
"Now. First chair Violin. Hanayo Eston, performing a solo rendition of Beethoven's moonlight sonata!" Happily cheered the teacher to a crowd of hundreds clapping and hollering with delight. Eyes closed, and a deep breath, Hanayo played. Firey pride and practicd precision gave the piece life in the instrument it was not written for. Momentary happiness in her mind, till it inevitably reached the final climaxing notes. Violin moving to her side, eyes opening as she bowed. An empty reserved seat in the front row. "I still need to get better." She thought.
