Hey guysm=, it's the 3rd one for the month. A bit darker
than the natural, but still, let's get into it.
Gurkha Hartfield and Co. Maduro:
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Pre-Light/Construction:
Like the other Hartfield and Co., the glass tube with wax seal, a bit longer since Churchill size.
Much darker wrapper. Opened it up and the smell was much more stringer in potency. Sweet and intoxicating.
Wrapper was very oily and a bit rough to the touch. Visible Viens and Seems to be included, but still the color was entrancing. Let's light it up.
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were rich and thick of bourbon. Much darker in notes. A bit of oak and black pepper came with it. The aroma from the retrohale was even more entrancing too. starting out a bit of a medium at this point. The flow was a bit snug, but still vibrant.
The Burn Part 2:
With the bourbon taste mainly covering most of the pallet, the pepper notes became a little more stronger, but not too much. If anything, it only complimented the oaky notes with it. The draw became a little more loose. The bourbon near the end somewhat dwindled a bit to make room a little more for the other notes. The oak became a little more natural by the end of it.
The Burn Final:
Nearing the end, the notes with the pepper dwindled a bit and the bourbon made a little more effort in trying to be the main flavor to take the lead. The oak notes were pretty much neck in neck with bourbon. By the end of it, the bourbon and oak were the the main 2 finishing in a tie before the pepper. With the last of the spongey puff, I buried in the ashtray grave.
Verdict:
For the Bourbon lover, this a little darker, but worth the flavor and taste. Have this after dinner or with a heavy drink.
