^^ Figured I'd try and catch up on posting my poetry here.
Hmmm... as I recall, this one was based on some brief bits of photojournalism on Chernobyl and the surrounding abandoned areas. The photos were focused on how nature was reclaiming it--despite the still-dangerous RAD levels.
For those who can't open the file. ^^;
The spires of meadow vervains,
Dead and straw-thin with winter,
Rise up through the corroded metal
Pinholes like honeycomb chambers
Left over by a swarm of rain.
The paint of the merry-go-round cars
Peels away and reveals the murky
Gray of the static sky. The tracks
Are buried in the cold embrace
Of the struggling grass.
