Come to think of it, River, is it possible that different environments spawned different patterning? Camouflage, environmental stressors, or the species' own preference for patterning and colours might affect them. I assume they're also at least a planetary species, so the gene pool could be spread out across a large enough geological area throughout their development to result in these altered colors.

I love the rainbow coloured line accents you gave a few of them. Maybe rainbow lines indicate something and silver lines indicate something else? I.e. magical prowess, heritage, etc.

#1, #8, and #5, in that order, are my favorites! I would have to see what they look like with the extra limbs, but I honestly think that they look great, as is!
