This idea popped into my head after having seen the most recent episodes and upon seeing how Yellow handled her sorrow with anger and vengeance even after 5,000 years since Pink's shattering, I had wondered if she may have taken that raw anger out on Jasper soon after Pink was lost, and a few times after that.
Hell, maybe it was Yellow who thrashed Jasper to poof and return with a yellow diamond on her uniform, instead of pink.

It seems clear that Jasper was there when Pink was still around, and yet instead of being left with the other earth born gems at Pink's former station; Yellow had taken her with. Why? I figure two reasons, Jasper could have been one of the most powerful gems crafted on earth and wanted her strength, second, I figure Yellow wanted a token, a piece of Pink's short legacy to keep her memory going, much as how Blue refuses to be rid of the bubbled Rose Quartz gems.
If any of this is true, it can also fuel why Jasper was so desperate to take out Rose/Steven. To not only show herself she is strong and can defeat her true enemy, but to show Yellow that she can and will be as strong as she was made to be; to feel some form of worth from her superior and her own self.
As for the question of why a diamond would be violent to another gem beneath her. Think of the cluster, not all those shards were crystal gems, how Agate was cruel and mean to the earth born gems, clearly showing a disgust to them just from where they came from, how Blue was so easily willing to shatter Ruby; it is clear the higher ups do not care for their servants/soldiers, or at least what it seems for now.
Then again, I am exhausted and rambling!
Side note, I learned how to blur things! Woot, woot!
