Thanks to the events of Change Your Mind, Jasper has been given that second chance, now that she managed to understand that the Diamond she was made to serve was so much more than what she had wanted of herself, somebody that wanted not to lead in an endless and vicious cycle of colonizing without end, she wanted to experience life, to experience its innate beauty on her own terms instead of what the other Diamonds were wanting or expecting of her. Pink was far happier doing things her own way, it gave her a sense of peace that only a few other gems had truly coveted.
Pink Diamond didn't truly see herself as a Diamond above all else, she saw herself as more of a dear friend, a lover, and even a Mother: this last one was who Pink felt herself towards the Earthborne Quartzes that were created on Earth, they weren't her soldiers, they were her own Daughters every single one of them endowed with the potential and want for that same level of peace and happiness that she herself had always felt. And right now, Jasper, a lost daughter of Pink Diamond has made her way before her little brother; Pink Diamonds last and youngest child: Steven Universe, and the only thing that she wants to know is why is she being forgiven even after everything that she had done to him, to their siblings, to even their shared mother.
