Good morning everyone!  Bagheera and I are happy to bring you another artwork for our upcoming novel, The Leopard Sun!

The theme for this concept painting is a nightmarish vision the lion pride leader, Amandla, experiences. Weary from a prolonged conflict with his enemies, and the pride slowly losing faith in his leadership, Amandla turned more and more to religion for solace. But he would find little comfort there.

In his nightmare, he looked up to the sky to see a dark sun, marred by spots and imperfections - unlike the golden orb of perfection he had always known. Swirling arches of fire reached down and split the earth, the horizon ablaze from end to end...

From Balaa: This is a loose quick speedpainting in which I tested going from value to color with mixed success. I also realized I had my photoshop docs set to the wrong color mode and so much of the color was lost when I changed the file over to SRGB.
