I think seth-iova's style is very good for this picture. Your own style beats out anhes' here. They're all super cute though tbh. Personally, I've been conditioning myself to just paint everything directly onto the same layer as the base colors. It's tough at first but I think it gives me a better aptitude at choosing colors over time.
its very hard to blend colors in a painterly fashion with digital art. the colors get muddy because of how the data is stored. theres ways around it of course but for me the effort isnt worth the result. ill take my cheaty filters and half assed smudges any day. ive actually found that a lot of people prefer my simple style :p
Oh yeah, I definitely know about colors getting messed with. The trick for better color blending, at least in Photoshop, is to switch to CMYK mode and then just convert the final image back to RGB. I think it's worth it for me, but from your stuff that I've seen so far, I'd say your cheaty filters and half-assed smudges are doing you well. Keep it up!
i think i can post the individual ones to my scraps folder. and i do think seths style is very soft and it compliments my softish style (probably because i take a lot of insp from the guy) the only problems i have with the shading system is how many brushes he uses and the fact that it ends up less vivid and colorful than id like.
but im defiantly going to be taking from both seths and anhes for the future

Yeah, I like how your current style feels less "digital" and uses warmer, more cohesive colors.
Maybe you could get closer to Seth's style with less brushes using Photoshop, since brushes have more complex options.
I love the results you get in Sai though, it inspires me to go back and give it another try.
