Another old concept!
After the human invasion most members of non-human species were forced to move in the poorest areas of the cities that once belonged to them. As long as they stay there and not bother the "good folk" outside the guards leave them be, which means all kinds of criminal activities happen here. For many, the slums are like a prison from where they cannot escape.
Sorry for the pretty low quality, but back then I didn't have a scanner and had to use a camera, and now that I have the scanner I no longer have the drawing. :P

They both ended up in this city. Zareen was sold here, and Shadi is trying in every way to find her mother again so she followed her trail (quite slowly, it took her years). Zareen was rescued though, so now idea where she is at the moment. ^^
