It does look...vaguely familiar, but I doubt I'd be able to place the source material even I have seen it somehow. It's the mouth and the weapon...could swear I've seen that somewhere before.

Goddamn, I spent way too much time trying to figure this out. It just looks so familiar...and yet I can't think of anything outside of the 'Secret of' series games (some recurring enemy lizard from Secret of Mana/Evermore/Gaia or Terranigma, they all have damn near the same plot so they just sort of blur together in my head) that even comes close.
