Spirit Guide of the Day is Platypus! This means that it is a time of heightened sensitivity when you must pay close attention to any clues your body is giving you. This situation requires trust in the process of being neither passive or resistant. Trust the flow of the situation to guide you and rather than trying to adapt to others demands, stay in tune to your own rhythm. Add more potatoes and carrots, underground grown foods. People that connect with Platypus are able to detect and move energy currents through their body, being naturally clarsentient. They are sensitive individuals with a lighthearted spontaneous nature and, although unusual looking, they are charming and would do well as a healer.
Platypus are carnivorous mammals that can weigh up to 3lbs. These Australian natives hunt underwater as bottom feeders, using their broad bill to scoop up insects, shellfish, worms, and larvae along with bits of mud and gravel. They do not have teeth, so the gravel and mud is stored in their cheek pouches where they mash up the scooped foods to swallow. They are elegant swimmers with webbed fore and hind feet and a broad, strong tail. They have folds of skin to cover their eyes and ears as well as the ability to seal their nostrils completely in order to keep water out from eyes, ears, and nostrils. Males of this species possess sharp stingers on their rear feet which are used to deliver a toxic poison to any foe. When on land, the Platypus' feet webbings retract to expose claws which aid in running and digging. With these, they dig dirt burrows near the waters edge. Within these burrows, a female Platypus will lay eggs, holding them warm between her body and tail.
