Terribly sorry for the absence. There was a lot of personal stuff to go through, but I hope this painting makes up for it.

This piece started out as a concept from a picture I took of my dad a couple of years back, but now it has taken a new meaning. I'm currently in the process of leaving my current job, and I've been reflecting on all the things that lie ahead: what my goals are, where I'm headed, etc. So I hope to have expressed that feeling here.

The color palette and layout of this painting comes from one of the final scenes of Hayao Miyasaki's "The wind rises". If you haven't seen that film, I highly recommend it.

I really like the overall result here, but I'm not entirely convinced by Truman's tail shadows. Any suggestions or general feedback is most appreciated. Thank you.
